Schiavo Moves Closer to Death (Schindlers Attorney: She Has 'Passed the Point of No Return')
ITV of Britain ^ | 3.27.05 9:49 PM

The Schindlers attorney said that Mrs. Schiavo is declining rapidly and a morphine drip has been administered by medical staff at her hospice to help her ease her pain.

He added, 'At this point, we would say that Terri has passed the point of no return.'

The case has been in and out of court for years and has gripped America.

It has seen the intervention of US President George W. Bush, the US Supreme Court and Florida's Governor Jeb Bush.

The Schindlers, practicing Roman Catholics, have attracted passionate support from an array of Christian conservatives, right to life, and anti abortion advocates, who have been holding vigils outside the hospice.

Amen. And you can bet the death crowd is working overtime to make Terri a precedent. Tragic.

Are you a dem attempting to turn this into a "hate Bush instead of the do-nothing democrats" view?

Highly unlikely. I was handing out 'I Like Ike' buttons in '52 before you probably were born, and have been working for Republicans since then! And, in case you don't know, 'Ike" was Eisenhower.

Now, there is a grip........ get it.

While I agree with all the views against this, pulling the feeding tube is used routinely throughout the U.S. under varied criteria.

The problem with this case - Terri was NOT DYING until they pulled the feeding tube. The state authorized and allowed the questionable husband to initiate death on one that could live with the tube without illness. WITHOUT the opportunity of feeding other ways. This is WRONG.

Terri should have had a re-review of the case by new eyes since the family begged for her and her husband had a wife and children (no man is entitled to two wives at the same time - even if his name is Michael Schiavo).

Terri had no written statement of her wishes.

If all was on the up-and-up, the following would have occurred.

Michael would have gotten a divorce and allowed her parents to take care of her.

There would not have been instructions for immediate cremation, Michael would have allowed the parents to bury their daughter since they are the heartbroken ones here - not him.

There would have been no extreme legal maneuvers - to the point of a lower court taking over executive authority- to prevent a re-review of the case, additional tests, etc.

The whole thing stinks and I feel that Americans are smart enough to see it. They may wish to have such an opportunity to push people along to the happy hunting grounds - but they know what is going on here.

This whole thing is about a test case to further the euthanasia agenda and they won.

I know that and believe that.

But, for the Schindlers, this whole thing was about loving Terri. Understandly, they also wanted an investigation concerning Michael.

FR is not here to meet anybody's expectations. It is what it is, nothing more, nothing less. Let people post what they want, within the bounds of civilized discourse.

>>>I wish it were a tipping point, but the MSM have shown that they still have power to affect the agenda. Just look at the polls-lukewarm Reps. and principled Dems may run for the hills.

By the way I noticed today that on the talk shows, i.e. Mclaughlin, Mathews, that the conservatives are always conservative pundits-i.e. barnes, Kristol. However their lib counterparts tend to be journalists or editors- mitchel, alter, clift whose jobs are to be unbiased.<<<

The media is pro choice and they see this case as an issue related to abortion rights. They think Terri's parents and their supporters are a bunch of pro life religious loons trying t enforce their religious beliefs upon Terri, whose wish it was to die.
You will notice the FReepers who are most adamant supporters of Judge Greer and MSchiavo's side are also pro choice Republicans/Libertarians.

Not all, but a lot.

Maybe they have this time, but it will be up to us to make sure no one else ever dies like this again.

Heavenly Father, we return to thank You that we can uphold our beloved Terri in her darkest hour. Let not her Guardian prevent her family from being at her side ... may they be able to speak their words of love and grief and may her heart receive their every word. Surround this mother's child with the prayers of unknown numbers who love her ... may they be of comfort to her and her family in her final hours. Into Your loving hands, O God, we commend our beloved Terri ... give to her now what man would not ... refreshment from the wellspring of Living Water and sustenance from the Bread of Life. In the Name of Jesus, look with mercy upon this wounded lamb ... Amen

I understand, as well, numerous appeals have been sent to God concerning Greer, Felos, Michael, and others yet un-named and unknown to us. Nevertheless, many believe that God not only knows these individuals' names and activities, He also has kept a record of all activities of Greer, Felos, and Michael.

Morphine for pain...but I thought she looked peaceful, happy even. Does this mean Michael and his mouthpiece have lied to us? The Schindlers should have threatened a civil lawsuit against the state and Michael for depriving Terri of her rights, at least religious rights...since he won't let her take communion. God forbid anyone notice she can swallow.

Well the effect is the same as if a dem was here trying to deflect the blame off the do nothing dems (who are highly silent) and, as ever, blame Bush.

I would rather trust my country and me to both of the Bush brothers than any others I can conjure up.

Who ordered the morphine. It must be a licensed physician. That physician, by this action, states there is pain to be dulled. But he says she can't feel pain. Which is it. Is this not a more powerful statement than a sworn statement that she feels no pain. This one issue should compel the court to begin refeeding this patient. Greer has 1 set of facts which he will allow any ruling on. Now don't confuse him with all of the facts.

"I thought that she would feel no pain because she had no capacity for it. I'd better stop right here..."

"Easing the pain" is death cult code for "expediting death." Certainly couldn't have anybody snatching their victory at this late hour.
