Injury Report Prompted Schiavo Cremation Plans
Newsmax ^ | 3/28/05 | unknown

Posted on 03/28/2005 1:26:35 AM PST by beyond the sea

Michael Schiavo decided to have his wife's body cremated after her parents' lawyers obtained medical records showing she had sustained broken bones, a nurse who cared for Terri Schiavo is now claiming.

"He wanted her cremated after the bone fractures and dislocations were found," nurse Carla Sauer Iyer, who cared for Terri in the mid-1990s while she was at the Palm Gardens Convalescent Center, told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity on Friday.

"He immediately went to court and [said he] wanted her body cremated at that time," she said, "after we got hold of the records that proved there were dislocations and fractures."

A 1991 report on a bone scan performed on Terri Schiavo states:

"There are an extensive number of focal abnormal areas ... These include: multiple bilateral ribs ... both sacroiliac joints ... both knees and both ankles."

Radiographs reveal "compression fractures" of the spine and right femur. ... "Compression fracture presumably traumatic," the report says.

Nurse Iyer said she recently contacted Palm Gardens to encourage co-workers who also cared for Terri to speak out - but said they have been muzzled.

"The administrator had gotten them together and they talked about what happened with Michael," Iyer told Hannity. "The people who have worked with Terri who are still there, they cannot talk to reporters - they would be terminated."

'Twill be very interesting when Terri kicks the bucket and they are subpoenaed by Congress.

Interesting.

Does anyone know if Terri was sleep-deprived before taking the "exam" that was taped and shown to the judges?

She looks sleepy to me.

Maybe Michael had "visited" Terri for several of the previous nights.

I'd like to know if blind Judge Greer could pass the "follow the balloon with your eyes" test.

Well, we know they aren't liberals like Leaky Leahy, then. Libs can almost always find ways to leak information that they want the press to have.

This whole thing looks more and more like blatant murder and a public that has been duped into complacency by a biased media and some slick talking lawyers. MS can do and say anything now and it doesn't seem to matter. Terri has been thrown to the wolves and everyone is powerless to help her.

Facts don't confuse them, they just ignore those. Especially the ones in here who think that they could never face the prospect of having a judge determine their fate. Or the ones who make excuses for the administration.

Wouldn't it be interesting (and, of course, awful) if autopsy results indicated Terri had been physically attacked years ago, leading to her current brain-damaged condition? And wouldn't it be even more interesting if, upon Terri's death, Michael Schiavo were to be charged with murdering her by proxies, the proxies being the Florida judicial system and the federal appeals court system?

Every possible effort must now be made to see that the destruction of forensic evidence useable in future wrongful death lawsuits is preserved--even if that means the Florida States-Attorney impounds the hearse on the way to the crematorium.

Judge Greer has rested his final and immovable judgement to kill Terri on his ruling that Terri's wishes are being carried out thru the agency of her husband, Michael Schiavo.

BUT--Greer himself has admitted that he committed a devastating mistake in coming to his conclusion--but he will not use his new discovery of his error to save Terri's life.

Instead--he now shoves his mistake back underwater and allows Terri's killing to continue.

Since all other judicial rulings have been made on the legal technicalities of the case and no Court whatsoever has done the de novo or new examination of the facts--including the testimony that could save Terri's life--as required by Congress, Judge Greer's invalid foundation upon which he rests this case has never been challenged.

Judge Greer has ruled to eliminate eyewitness testimony that Terri, responding to TV coverage of the Karen Ann Quinlan unplugging , stated explicitly that she, Terri, would never want to be disconnected and hurried off to death.

Based on these verbal statements, Terri's wishes are being directly violated by Judge Greer's death decision.

Reversable error on the face of it.

Judge admits mistake, refuses to reverse findings on Terri Schiavo

The major argument on which Judge Greer's whole case rests is that the current starvation and dehydration of Terri actually fulfills her stated wishes and is being executed by agency of Michael, her husband.

Greer's recent confession that he made a wrongful ruling on Terri's wishes goes directly against--in fact, completely undercuts--the rationale for killing Terri.

We are on the brink of witnessing a true case of judicial homicide.

The moment this criminal act is completed--upon the medical pronouncement at the hospice--all legal measures must be taken to protect Terri's post mortem interests.

Law enforcement and other legal entities must move to prevent guilty parties from covering-up or in any way erasing material that may be used for future investigations and prosecutions that well may reach from the county bench level in Florida all the way up to the Federal Court System.

I don't understand it. So many places are begging for medical care professionals up here. I think living with ones self under those circumstances would be hard. She did lose her job when she took a stand for Terri years ago. Then she allowed him to intimidate her after she signed her affidavit. Now she has the courage to stand up.

Who cares if the name calling crowd calls you names. I would tell the truth. To bad if someone doesn't like it. The worst thing a person can lose is their self respect.

If some of those other people have a caring heart this is bothering them very much and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives.

You're right! THEY don't want any more facts, just like Judge Greer. Greer has heard all the 'facts' he ever cares to hear.

And all the other courts never review his 'facts', only his
'procedures'. That's why a 'trial de novo' was so important.
It would have been a do-over of the original 'facts' that
condemned her, along with ALL NEW testimony as well.

Does anyone know if the federal trial de novo would use the
stricter standard of proof of "beyond any reasonable doubt"?

Would it have had a jury?

Yes. Plenty of us are handicapped. I have a tremor. When I try to click the remote to turn on the TV, I often accidentally hit the "on" button twice. I end up turning the TV off.

I'd hate to be judged by my ability to push sensitive buttons to achieve certain outcomes.

The worst that will happen is that they will become "pariah's," once the overwhelming dastardly and awful facts of this case finally permeate this society. A widely diverse group of people from all races, all religions and all political ideologies are forming to become strange bedfellows here. They are bonded together with all of us in horror at what is transpiring..This is not about States Rights..It is about someone being denied due process..In a day not too many years ago, Michael Schiavo's behavior would have stripped him of guardianship over this helpless girl..She would have been placed into the loving arms of her parents where God put her the day she was born. Who could have imagined this evil day in America????????To all who come here to learn of the events of the day..A warning..Already the Associated Press has put out a sympathy piece for Judge Greer. It is posted on foxnews.com. We are going to see the forgers in the MSM strongly attempt the psychological trick of transferring sympathy from the victim to the perpetrators today..The only thing anyone can do is to keep reminding people about what this is and not to go along with the attempted perversion of the facts. A big perversion has occurred over the weekend as liberal talk shows have tried to put the focus on the Bush administration and on Jeb Bush..The only issue here is that Terri Schiavo is being euthanized without due process by an American court.

No, a US citizen is being given due process as an inanimate object rather than as a human being. She should have automatically reverted to her parent's guardianship when her "husband" moved to have her murdered by the courts the first time.

The only issue here is that Terri Schiavo is being euthanized without due process by an American court.

Or perhaps the issue is that Terri Schiavo is being euthanozed WITH DUE PROCESS by the American Court because the pro-euthanasia movement has managed to make substantial revisions to the law, especially during the past 5 years (and it does appear that Terri has been set up as the test case for these ghouls to prove their point and advance their beliefs than euthanasia of a young non-terminally ill handicapped person is preferable to a diminished life).

And this has occurred right under the radar screen of the American public, which is only now perceiving this outrage.

this whole thing looks more and more like blatant murder and a public that has been duped into complacency by a biased media

Please check this out!

**

When Dan Rather used fake memos to smear President Bush, bloggers blew the whistle and the rest of the media recognized a journalistic scandal. But coverage of the dubious “GOP Talking Points” memo on the Schiavo case has been far different.

Perhaps realizing that another phony document scandal could totally sink the credibility of the so-called mainstream media, there is great reluctance to admit that journalists from ABC News, the Washington Post, CBS News and other news organizations were taken in again, and that the Democrats played a dirty trick on the Republicans in a matter of life and death.

The significance of the memo cannot be underestimated. It surfaced at a time when Democrats were on the defensive about what to do in the Schiavo case. Would they allow a federal review of the case, as is routinely done for convicted killers facing the death penalty?

What better way was there to turn the table on the Republicans than by charging that they really didn’t care about Terri Schiavo but only wanted to fire up their conservative pro-life base? The “GOP Talking Points” memo fit the bill perfectly. It called the case “a great political issue” for the Republicans.

The entire matter just shows how evil and powerful and destructive to the country the old liberal/socialist media is!

The old media is the most evil and destructive force in this country.

The worst thing to lose is a soul (or conscience). I'd say next up for not good to lose are innocence, mercy and charity.

Just my opinion. I'll be praying over each glass of water I have today, that His will be done -- but you can bet I'll toss in some of my thoughts about witholding mercy and charity from some eartly players ;-)

In civil trials, "clear and convincing" is the same statndard that "beyond a reasonable doubt" is in a criminal case.

The federal courts got the law wrong. Greer got the facts wrong. And the judicial system is showing us its ass.
