Bill Maher and John Stewart work because we a have a sick society devoid of morals.

Ehhhh. I may not agree with everything they say or who they pick on, but they are funny.

I think that's in very bad taste.

He is in "I hear nothing, I see nothing, I know nothing" mode.

A butcher, completely indifferent to human life.

I called Bill Jenkins office (R Tenn ist) and was told that the Government Reform Committee had rescinded its subpoena, pending a rescheduing of a gearing.

Nothing else - reckon they rescheduled when Greer told them to pound sand?

hearing.

Call your own reps - not just the leadership. Greer has humiliated the representatives of the people.

But for the American people themselves, for failing to overwhelmingly respond to public opinion polls without any shadow of doubt in favor of Terri, and life, and her parents and siblings, but rather in favor of DEATH, and Judge Greer, and Michael Schiavo and their fat asses comfortably ensconced weekend on the couch with their popcorn and Blockbuster videos, bear the ultimate culpability I believe. Just as did Germans, Italians and Japanese 60 years ago when they had a chance to pull back from the abyss, but egged on by their selfishness and lack of collective moral compass, went down the road to Evil and Darkness.

I blame the MSM for alot of the ignorance of the American people on this. I know most people have been convinced she is brain dead, in a coma, a vegetable and was on life support, e.g. a breathing and heart machine. If they knew the truth about the whole thing, I think most people would think differently.

WHERE IS JESSIE JACKSON??? HE should be "YELLING FROM THE MOUNTAINTOPS!!!"

Gosh that's the easiest question to answer.

If this woman was black he would be raising holy hell to save her.

However, Terri is white so he does nothing.

Jessie Jackson and his ilk are nothing more than reverse racists.

Jesse Jackson has gone on record as saying this is wrong.

I applaud him for it.

What's in far worst taste is ridiculous lying by the Schiavo family lawyer who claims Terri clearly talks and inflates a whole conversation out of just moaning sounds. Totally blows credibility, to where many who don't have much info on the case just write it off that the family must be wrong and so she must really be a vegetable in no pain who really did tell MS she didn't want to live like that.

I think this has been a complete failure of the justice system, that the feeding tube should have never been removed, and a de novo review should have been performed. If she can't feel pain in this "euphoric" starvation, why are they giving her morphine? But the dishonesty of some of her supporters is extremely counterproductive, and has helped turn public opinion against keeping her alive. No one impartial believes it when the attorney comes out and claims she had this deathbed talk with Terri, when all the released video and audiotape show zero evidence of such. Could she be aware? Quite possibly. But don't treat us like gullible fools and tell us she can have conversations. It really is like the old story where someone claims the frog sings and dances, but only when no one else is watching.

See the last line of post #71. Basically I made a more sarcastic reference to that story.

That is news to me. I'll have to start calling again. Looks like a blatent cya move to me...when Greer defies a subpoena, rescind the subpoena and suddenly there is no reason to hold anyone accountable...it's MAGIC!

Touting Terri's "right to die" salves the conscience of many Americans - FReepers included - who have unplugged family members.

There is a related thread Terri Schiavo: America's Death Wish

There are some scoffers there. I think the priest (and you) are right on about that. That doesn't mean you necessarily would agree with all of it.

It saddens me that NewsMax and WND opinions are not more out in the mainstream for consideration.

He did a bit of Barbara Weller recounting Terri jumping up on the bed and singing "Hello My Baby".

I'm sure the deathies were just howlin' with laughter.

It wasn't about getting a laugh, it was about pointing out the lawyer's dishonest hyperbole with an absurd but very parallel example.

(Quote source: Florida Politcians, Government Officials & Scientology)

Florida Governor Jeb Bush is also on friendly terms with the "church" of Scientology. He publicly endorsed and legitimized this already extremely wealthy organization by approving grants for one of their front organizations, the World Literacy Crusade—a Scientology reading program designed for public schools:

In October 2000, the World Literacy Crusade of Florida was one of the organizations in the Tampa Bay area to be presented with a grant of $10,000 from Verizon’s “Tampa Bay Reads” program by Governor Jeb Bush. The grant was repeated in November 2001 at an event sponsored by the University of South Florida’s College of Education and officiated by the Florida Secretary of Education, Jim Horne.9

President Bush also assists in public relations for the "church" Scientology by endorsing and funding Narconon, the drug rehabilitation program run by the 'church' of Scientology:

The Church of Scientology™'s Narconon® program seems to be fairing well under the President's initiative.10

This is just horrifying, what will finally provoke Greer to act and save her life?

In my opinion, nothing. If she got up, and danced the Hokey Pokey into the streets in front of network news cameras, he'd still require her to be killed.
