RED LAKE, Minn. - Federal authorities no longer believe that Red Lake school shooter Jeff Weise acted alone.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has confirmed that authorities have arrested a juvenile today in connection with the the Red Lake school shooting, which occurred a week ago. The shooter, Jeff Weise, took his own life after killing nine people, including his grandfather, several students, a security guard, and a teacher.
A federal search warrant was executed on the Red Lake Reservation today, 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS has also learned.
Up to this point, authorities have continually said that the Weise acted alone.
The arrest takes place on a day when funerals are being held Weise and three of his victims.
The FBI had no immediate comment in relation to the arrest, citing an ongoing investigation.
Further details were not immediately available because the arrest was made under a sealed federal warrant.
Federal authorities and witnesses say Weise killed his grandfather, a tribal police officer, and his grandfather's companion last Monday at a home on the reservation. Weise then took his grandfather's weapons to the high school, where he killed five students, a security guard and a teacher before killing himself. It was the nation's deadliest school shooting since the killings at Columbine High School near Littleton, Colo., in 1999, which ended with the deaths of 12 students, a teacher and the two teen gunmen.

This story is getting weirder, which is really saying something considering that we were already dealing with a Nazi Indian.
The boneheads that put an unarmed security guard at a metal detector should be prosecuted as accessories in nine of those deaths.
I'm wondering at this point if maybe #2 helped to overcome Weises' grandfather and his companion and then stayed out of the school shooting with "cold feet".

Local radio news just reported that the nephew of the the Red Lake tribal leader was taken into custody yesterday. It is thought that plans were much larger........
Probably sold him the guns or something similar.
Nah, they've said all along that the guns belonged to grandad.
Unless......
The .22 derringer used to kill grandad was supplied from outside......
I'm afraid you won't find any dims handing out firearms in THIS state!

Local NBC affiliate (KARE11) reporting that additional homes and computers are being searched.

The juvenile son of Red Lake Tribal Chairman Floyd Jourdain Jr. has been arrested in connection with the shooting rampage that killed 10 people last week.
U.S. Attorney Tom Heffelfinger wouldn't confirm the name, age or gender of the person who was arrested Sunday, but a source with knowledge of the investigation said it was Louis Jourdain.
Heffelfinger said that juvenile proceedings have started for the suspect in federal court, but wouldn't comment on what role Jourdain might have played in the shootings.

Heffelfinger declined to comment on where the suspect was arrested because it might identify the person. He also wouldn't comment on the proceedings.
The Minneapolis FBI sent out an e-mail to media late Saturday with a subject line of "FBI arrest at Red Lake." Two other e-mails were quickly sent out that said no arrest had been made.
"I won't comment on any facts that relate to arrest yesterday nor comment on facts developed during the investigation since March 21," Heffelfinger said. "We have a very active and ongoing investigation, and it would be speculation for me say what is going to come out."
When asked if residents of Red Lake should have been concerned about their safety if another person connected to the shooting had been on the loose for a week, Heffelfinger said all the agencies involved in the investigation have responsibility for public safety on Red Lake.

Red Lake buzzed Monday with news of the arrest. A boy who knew Louis Jourdain told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that he liked heavy metal music and was into the same "Nazi stuff" that Weise was.
