Kofi Annan is like Clintoon. There is no principle or person who cannot be sacrificed when necessary to save his worthless hide.

My favorite is when they tossed Thomas Jefferson and FDR down the stairs with unsubstatiated charges of adultery in order to cushion Bubba's well padded posterior in his fall.

Mr Annan has said that he was "disappointed and surprised" when he learned that Kojo continued to be paid by Cotecna after 1998 when the firm was awarded a contract to monitor the oil-for-food programme.

Surprised and disappointed? I'll just bet he was.

Do ol' Koffi and his son have Immunity?

Yes, but Kofi Annan has said they would waive it.

Now, I don't take him at his word (but I admit that it's helpful that he is on record).

Evidently the UN can waive it while the individual still continues to claim it. I also expect Annan to indulge in some clintonian parsing about how he urged others to waive it but never said he's waive it personally. We shall see.

Ah! Boys will be boys. You try to raise them right, but then this stuff happens. Why, I don't know how many times I told him, Kojo, if you're gonna mess around, and the acorn never does fall too far from the tree, $300,000 is just chump change. Watch my main man, Benon Sevan.

Cotecna and both Annans deny any connection between the firm's contract and its employment of Kojo.

Cotecna says that Kojo was paid his fee for agreeing not to work for a rival firm in west Africa.

Cotecna was paying Kojo $2500 a month not to work for their competitors in Africa.

Funny thing, after this came out, I sent an email to Cotenca offering not to work for any of their competitors worldwide for only $5000 a month... but I never hear from them, maybe I should resend my note in case they didn't get it.

/Sarcasm - Although I really did send the note.
