"Long before he defended OJ Simpson on murder charges, Johnnie Cochran prosecuted Lenny Bruce for alleged obscenity."

Hmmm- my sympathy for Cochrane's death just took a bit of a step back. Still, God Bless him and his family.

My wife thinks you're a genius for that Cochranism. It's already been passed on to a friend in Arizona she happened to be on the phone with when I reported it to her.

I think it has more to do with God's life, given to any man, now taken back, and a reverence for, if not silence in the presence of, that passing. I try not to mock the memory of a man on the day he dies. I have thought it in the past, and I won't any more.

It seems that is the common denominator. Most reasonable people who watched the whole thing came to the same conclusion. When you ask a reasonable person who thinks "guilty as sin" if they watched or not, most got their info from the pundits. I would watch the trial and then watch the pundits. I'm not sure they saw any of it.

Believe me, I have no love lost for lawyers but Barry Sheck was a master. I have never seen anyone maitain such focus through such a complicated Q&A session. He never too his eye off of his target. It was the most incredible display of focus I had ever seen.

I rent a space in a large storage facility in town. You know the kind of place, a store-all type outfit. I've had this spot for six years, pay it annually in advance. They called me a couple of years ago asking me to give up my space - in other words I'd have to move all that stuff. I declined; however, they did explain why they posed the request. Johnny Cochran had every other space rented. Each unit was stacked floor to ceiling with unsold copies of his book "A Lawyer's Life". I'm assuming now, but he bought up or somehow acquired these numerous quantities of his book to skew sales figures. (I'm convinced that Hillary did the same thing.) Nonetheless, I didn't relinquish my space. I'm curious what they'll do with all these copies of his book now.

If life don't fit, heart musta quit. Have fun back-slapping murderers in hell Johnnie...

Excellent comment.

Hell must be near at or near capacity now with a standing room only crowd waiting.

Oh, dear! I just read the "Cochranism". I think it is poor taste to bring it up 8 posts into a thread about the death of Johnnie Cochran, but still...I can't help it, it's funny as hell, ROFL!

I don't know what he did for a kid on the Makeover show, but I can imagine, as I can also imagine that there may be some demons for him to exorcise after the OJ trial, in thte same way that another Dream-Teamer, Barry Scheck seems to have dedicated himself to LEGITIMATE causes of freeing the wrongly convicted through high-tech DNA analysis. I found him vile, for no reason other than he saved a man I'm sure he knew was guilty , and "allowed" his lawyer's protocol and privelege to cleanse his conscience of the considerable part he played in it.

They say "speak not ill of the dead", but if that was the case we'd all say nice things about Hitler. The only difference is that Hitler was a 'BIG COCKROACH', and people like Johnny Cochran are 'little cockroaches'.

An adulterer; a shyster who swindled some of his clients; and a man who played the race card to get a brutal double murderer free to spend the rest of his life enjoying his pursuits of fun and pleasure. A lawyer who knew his client was guilty, but wanted him free anyways. He got a tumor in the same brain he used to do it all. I don't wish that on anybody, but compared to Ron and Nichole, Johnny got out of this world easy. May he rest in peace?? Naw, may he meet Ron and Nichole instead to explain his twisted views of 'justice'.

I guess. But I certainly am not perfect. I will not be the first one to cast stones.

Cochran skillfully played the race card in the criminal trial and got his acquittal, but set back race relations in this country thirty years, IMO.

He said from the outset that if he could get one black on the jury O.J. would never be convicted.

Trouble with you is the trouble with me, got two good eyes but you still don't see.

Come round the bend, you know it's the end, the fireman screams and the engine just gleams.

Driving that train, high on cocaine, Casey Jones is ready, watch your speed.
