I had no idea, either. Cochran still plagued with mystery illness

Friends Stand By Cochran During Health Crisis

He’s the man behind O.J. Simpson’s “not guilty” verdict, and he protected P. Diddy, but now America’s most famous celebrity lawyer, Johnnie Cochran, has a different fight on his ands. “Extra” got the emotional details straight from Cochran’s former court TV co-host and friend, Nancy Grace.

“My immediate response when my family called to tell me Johnnie was sick was to pray,” Grace told us. “I was deeply saddened. He and his wife have been friends for many years now.”

What exactly ails Cochran remains a mystery. A spokesman revealed he is recovering from a neurological condition, and reports that Cochran is suffering from brain cancer have been denied.

In an interview with “Extra” in 2002, the legendary lawyer said that when it is his time, he knows what they’ll write on his tombstone: “‘If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit,’” he said, adding, “But hopefully I’ve done a lot more than that.”

Fortunately, Cochran’s people say his condition is not life threatening, and his friends think he’ll be back on the docket in no time. Grace insisted, “He will charm the nurses, the doctors, the illness, he can charm a bird out of a tree.”

But in addition to his charm, friends believe that it’s Cochran’s determination that will carry him through.

Wow, from that story it didn't sound like a life threatening illness.

Looks like Cochran's people lied. An inoperable brain tumor is life threatening.

Of course, they failed to tell the press that the doctor was the personal physician to the Prime Ministers of the USSR during the 70s and 80s.

Apparently "Extra" isn't on top of things as I heard he had cancer last year (after he appeared several times on LKL to defend Peterson). He was to become a regular CNN legal pundit but only appeared two or three times and I assumed his cancer took a turn for the worse.

His condition is not life threatening? Man, spoken like a true lying lawyer bunch. He can charm a bird out of a tree, but he could not charm the grim reaper when he came for him.
