Hi, deport. Thanks for the ping. I imagine a big chunk of this is due to AARP's ads and town meetings and such, detailed on Brit Humes show tonight.

I don't really care about the numbers, as I imagine that they will rise again as people understand the Social Security problem and AARP is shown to be wrong. May take awhile, but that's the way it goes.

GWB didn't care about his approval ratings in his first term. There's not a chance that he cares now.
He does care about the polls for the issues he's trying to resolve - particularly SS and judicial nominations right now. The polls on those issues don't necessarily match his personal approval rating. Any effort he spends on polls will be to boost the ratings on those issues. Those are the more interesting polls to follow.

Interesting this piece comes out since I said his numbers weren't bad as well, though did not state historical points to support it. Considering everything occuring right now to only be in mid-40's from lower 50's rating is actually good if you have perspective.

Not that polls matter at this point.
