All it takes is one look around the school to see that there may be a problem with that logic, considering that the school mascot is seen carrying a sword.

Career day photo of soldier with gun puts school district in a bind.

There's a video at KATU TV's website.

If only they had banned photographs of soldiers at Jeff Weise's school. Then nothing bad would have happened.

Maybe I just don't get it, but what is a Marine supposed to be holding?

Is still amazing to think that this country won World War II. Now we get scared at the picture of a gun.

Well it seems like a no brainer to a rational person. A Marine is supposed to carry a weapon, it's part of the job. I wonder if they would have a problem with a photo of an armed police officer.

I am sure that they would prefer a picture of an unarmed marine getting beheaded. In order to enslave a population you have to get rid of the cultural iconography.

They can show a disarmed Marine, if they like, along with the subjugated American civilians that would necessarily follow...

Absolutely. It shows our soldiers ready to stand and defend our country.

If they're going to ban a photo of an armed Marine, they should also ban the "Massachusetts Quarters" that show an armed Minuteman on the reverse.

If it were up to libs, the Marine would be holding a white flag.

I'm sure if it was a picture of Ward Churchill holding an AK-47, it would not have been a problem for that crappy principal.

Here in NYC we have actual military and SWAT teams, some with assault weapons, at various points throughout the city and it doesn't seem to have adversely impacted the children -- they are just as stupid as they always have been.

My question too, what do they expect him to hold, a feather duster?

Remember the Dim ad depicting a surrendering soldier with his weapon over his head, sinking in quicksand?

I'm sure that would probably have been just fine at this school.
