My father-in-law had a business partner named Shiavo in his first business. They were Italian Catholics. It's not that common a name, and I bet that they were relatives of this murderer.

Everything I have seen points to the fact that MS is truly anti-Catholic. The poor parents, won't even be able to put flowers on the grave at Memorial Day, or visit the grave on All Soul's Day, which is a Catholic custom. Let alone making it difficult since they are all in Florida and she will be buried thousands of miles away in PA. Cremation is slowing being accepted in the Catholic Church, but for devout Catholics, it is still taboo. He would not allow daily Communion. Through Felos this morning, he lashed out at Father Pavone. This is so anti-Catholic it is unbelievable.

I'm with Michael on this. Shame on the likes of Sean and Rush for carrying the charges of the Shindlers with no care in the world for the hate filled rhetoric that ensued.

Death threats for Michael, the hospice, the police chief. Death threats for Jeb Bush, President Bush. This from so called right to life people?

Beam me up!

It was hideous enough that the family was denied the comfort of spending time with Terri in her last moments, this is an utter outrage.

I once again point out that if you spend seven years accusing someone of being a wife beater, without any evidence to back up that claim, then they're probably not going to invite you over for tea and crumpets.

Of course, that explains why I don't throw such accusations around unless I've got the goods.

Any dispute between Michael Schiavo and Terri's parents are irrelevant. Common decency requires that the dispute be shelved in the name of the sanctity of the event.

"Michael has no heart!"

I can't shake the feeling that MS and all of the death cultists he's involved with are a Satanic cabal, performing a ritual sacrifice of some sort. Rosemary's baby or something, I don't know.

I see only evil in this entire affair.

To expect common decency from the other party after not showing any to them for seven years is a wee bit much.

Whether his decision was right or wrong, he said/she said, whether their accusations were truth or untruth ...it has no real bearing on the matter at hand (the burial). The woman is dead. However, it is MHO, that Michael will be the most single HATED man in this country, ongoing, passed on to his children, dogged by his decisions, hated beyond belief by extremists, hounded by people who call themselves allies and enemies, detested by every member of Terri's family and every friend she ever had, shunned by members of society, it will affect his very livelihood, if he doesn't allow Terri's parents to know where they daughter is buried. It's bad enough he didn't allow them to be there when she died. It does not matter WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN THEM. He will be HATED and SHUNNED for this. It won't matter what the parents did or do. This will eclipse it. And he will be detested. And not just by Christians. And not just by mothers. And not just by conservatives. And not just by republicans. But by job interviewers, real estate agents, neighbors, etc. If he had any sense, he'd change his mind. Because we all know, Terri certainly didn't want THIS.

I'm not suggesting they have to talk or sit in the same pew. However they are her parents for God's sake, and this is the last time they would even have to tolerate each other. I do not think it is at all unreasonable, even with the bad blood flowing, to allow this much - if Michael is so concerned about Terri's wishes, then he should realise it was unlikely that she wouldn't want her parents there.

Regards, Ivan

I am having a hard time understanding why the Shindlers are not given the respect to bury their daughter with all the Rites of the Catholic Church.

How can this monster continue to spit on Catholics, and on God, and continue to get away with it?!

Michael is a jerk but that comment is totally irresponsible and degrades FR. I rarely hit the abuse button but I'm hitting it now.

I made no threat and merely commented on how FATE (check the word out, eh?) had a funny way of dealing with people like Schiavo and his 1000 miles 'journey of tears' (LOL) might be a bit of challenge.

You really need to try the decaf.

My husband's ex-wife is an evil wench. She's done and said horrible things to us for the past 7 years. But if something happens to my husband, I would allow her to be at his funeral to support his daughters. If the Schindlers really are the vindictive, horrible people that Michael's supporters claim, then wouldn't it prove that Michael was the better person by allowing them to be there?

Just reading through these comments reminds me of the on going feud between the Shindlers and the Shiavos. Let's not imitate them. Even if we disagree, can't we strive to be a better example?

Hostility and bitterness also take their toll on your health as well. Let's not do it here.

No fights broke out. Terri deserves the presence of her parents.

I agree.

I think the real problem is that a fight nearly broke out this morning and that is why the family had to leave. At least this time police were present. I think Terri's brother blew it arguing with the police.

Even though the real ordeal is over, the fights will continue. Schiavo's brother as much as said that Schiavo will be suing people for defamation.

Mike didn't have the guts to have a news conferance, but sent his "Clintonest" lawyer. He cradled her with a teddy bear in his arms, flowers all around, as she died a peacful death. This is beyond ironic! When the autopsy shows head and neck trama, bone fractures we will send this killer to join Scott Petterson.

This would not be the first funeral where the media were kept at bay! The Shindler family were very subdued today and I am sure that the Shiavo's could get security at the cemetary so it would not turn into a circus. Haven't they heard of private services. Geesh, let her family attend the graveside service for closure. The Shindler's can have their own Catholic memorial service although I am sure they would rather have a Mass of Resurrection, but that is not possible without a body.

Nice try Scott, but I for one won't be buying Michael's book, watching Michael's movie, or viewing Michael's interview with Diane Sawyer or Barbara Walters. Michael is a heartless, soulless bully and killer without a shred of decency in him. I sure hope wife-to-be Jodi gets him before he gets her, but since she is probably the doormat to end all doormats, that is probably not likely to happen.

If the Schindlers have any hope of finding peace, it will likely not be in the same place Michael Schiavo finds his. This whole premise is contrived so that the knife turning that went on in Terri's life can be prolonged even after her death. It's a circus. None of this matters. If there was any sanity left on either side, they'd seek solace and comfort in the company of their own loved ones and stop the damn warring.
