NEW YORK Teen surfer Bethany Hamilton (search) is bottling her passion: She's launching two fragrances Stoked (search) and Wired (search) that aim to capture the smell of the ocean.
Stoked is for girls and Wired is for boys. Stoked blends notes of clementine, pineapple, tropical orchids, lotus blossoms, sandalwood and coconut. Wired includes notes of orange and Asian pear, jasmine, juniper, cedar wood and sandalwood.

Who says life doesn't imitate art? She's probably a Seinfeld fan.

There was a report she had to turn down a huge contract to endorse slot machines, because she's not old enough to gamble....(think about it...)

" that aim to capture the smell of the ocean."
Former Michigander Baltodog is marketing his cologne to capture the smell of old alewives washed up on the shores of Lake Michigan, that the seagulls haven't gotten to yet.
It will be reminiscent of the anticipation of smelt dipping season...

This is a girl who was attacked by a shark, had an arm taken off, and is a very very devout Christian. I may not enjoy the bubble gum pop smell, but I will pick up a bottle because portions of the proceeds go to World Vision.
God Bless her!!!

Dude, you are sick!
A young girl surfer gets an arm bitten off by a shark and you have this to joke about?

Curious, would we even know who she was if she hadn't been maimed by a shark? Celebrity can be reached in the strangest ways.
I do think it's good for kids to have someone like her, with a good positive attitude in the face of adversity, to look up to.

Bravo!
Sound of one hand clapping...
This girl still shreds after losing her arm to the shark...
To: baltodog
That sounds like it ought to be a hit with the neighborhood cats.

I meant it in a complimentary way...not cruel..she is a remarkable young lady. I shall therefore emulate Temple coach Johh Cheney, and in penance, voluntarily suspend myself from posting for one day..

Yep she still shreds...
She can do more on that board with one arm than most of these people joking could ever do.
Surfing is fun but it isn't easy. I have been surfing for 20 years.

I think Bethany herslef would have laughed at that one...she's spunky as hell. I'd be too much of a scaredy-cat to even get in a bathtub after what happened to her, but she still does it. She's braver than me.

His joke was in poor taste, but he is repentant and did not appear to have meant it maliciously.
