"on a day when we feel like we're on a deathwatch that's gone on for a month, "
Good God. Give us your opus too, please.
I mean it. I want to see this place get cleaned out of all the emotional basketcases.
Give me your replies, I'm outta here for the night.
A lucky lady gets to dine with me this evening.

The Bush brothers did not do all they could to preserve life with respect to Terri Schiavo. You wrote that they took a political risk. They did indeed unfortunately the risk they took was weak and unsuccessful. Luckily, Jeb showed us all we need to know about his abilities with respect to his candidacy for President such that he will not be a candidate. At least one good thing came of Terri's passing. Yeah, another good thing is that it paves the way for Hillary, who was largely absent from the scene. /sarc

Jeb's made it clear he has no plans to run for President. Don't you wish you had a dollar for every single time that's been posted on FR; and STILL they keep saying he's not going to get their vote. *Sigh*

Don't go postin' no opus of your own, Poohbah. FR needs people who have the ability to use words like 'onanistic' in their proper context.

We're putting a rather decent sized waterfall and pond in our backyard, and I'm hoping I won't have geese. I wouldn't mind an occasional duck, but I'm hoping the geese will stay in their nice big pond across the street.

Please don't leave. There are many of us here who agree with what you wrote.

Nope. Seniority doesn't matter. However, I've been around long enough to see clymers try to pull seniority. The reference to the time I've lurked is appropriate here because I remember a bunch of Buchanan Brigadiers writing the same type of nonsense vanities back in '00 when they quit or under a new name after they were booted from FR for flaming W supporters. Once again, I ask - if seniority doesn't matter (and I don't really care about it one way or another) why are you expending so much energy towards builing up your "Seniority Cred"?
You never did answer that part :)

That was a beautiful opus. I couldn't do better myself.
If I ever did do an opus (God forbid) I might not be so nice - Im would most likely strap on an explosive rant and take out as many of my fellow FReepers as I could.
Im glad to see that you are not like that.
In any event, hope to see you back soon!

Ohfercryinoutloud.
Peel off the hairshirt, friend. I've been here for seven years and have seen every little tempest on this site. Big deal. They come and go. There are saints and sinners, cool people and a**holes aplenty. So what?
I love this site for what it is, what it represents, and the ability of FReepers to dissect.
Leaving accomplishes squat. No offense, but I get tired of these "gonna miss me?" threads.
To: Poohbah
At least when I leave it will be because of the trolls, not other Freepers.

Hey-- "throwing names around" is now permitted at FR. It is A-OK to do it.
I've been around FR for a long time, and things are no worse now than they were "back in the old days". In fact, I would offer that they're actually BETTER! There are a lot more posters now, so participating in any debate requires that you know your topic. Anyone just jumping on a thread for name-calling quickly looses credibility and is ignored (or should be).

Not to butt in, but how come all the chips in that one are mostly on the left?
