"Recall the media just went to TOWN on democrat Peg Lautenschlager (while Doyle left her twisting in the wind)."
That blew over within a week. She's gonna skate. AND now that she's sobered up, she's going to personally prosecute Vang who killed all of those hunters, to put a bright, shiney face on her career as a "tough on crime" Democr@p. And then, of course, she announced within DAYS of that that she has breast cancer, so she's absolved of all sin. Yeesh.
She didn't spend any time in jail, and she was drunk AND high on prescription painkillers while driving a State vehicle...while collecting mileage reimbursement.
I hate, hate, hate politics in my state. I dearly LOVE Wisconsin, but it is truly dominated by a bunch of left-wing losers.
Please don't think I'm a whiner. I'm trying! I swear I am! I worked for Bush in the last campaign and I'm voting tomorrow in a little, rarely attended "Dog Catcher Level" election and will vote against every Dem on the ballot.
Was Peg Lautenschlager with him?
Agreed, she got off easy. But I live in Madison, and the fallout was definately longer than a week for her. And Doyle literally let her twist in the wind over it. I also agree she's trying to perk up her image prosecuting a "gimme" case like Chai Vang. She's a politician, though, so that's to be expected. She's facing good competition, though in Van Hollen and Bucher. The GOP plans to roll it out for these guys, so have some hope.
I hate Wisconsin politiics, too...then again, it keeps me so mad I want to keep fighting!
We're voting in Fitchburg today for Mayor and a few Alderpeople & Dog Catcher, etc.
I'll be voting against every stinkin' Democr@p on the ticket, no matter WHICH Republican is running against them.
I'm writing in candidates where Dems are running unopposed.
I think you have a sneaky May 24th (?) voting day coming up for Madison. Beware. I'm sure they're trying to railroad Madison taxpayers into something or other. Happy voting! :)
Oh, and enjoy your useless streetcars and ill-sited new pool paid with your tax dollars, via Mayor Dave, LOL! I refuse to even WORK in Madison any longer. I hope you can escape their clutches one day soon.
.18 is pretty hammered.
Operating While Intoxicated<P.
Is there a penalty for legislating while intoxicated?
LOL! You're killing me. I know about the 5/24 referendum...cost an additional 88k to have it in May...not that the taxpayers matter. Mayor Dave can have his streetcars, and the pool that no one will pay to swim in... I will have moved out of this city by then (like just about everyone I know has already done...)
Good for you. Head for the hills!
More Breaking News on Senator Russ Decker. He held a fundraiser IN A BAR just days after being busted for DUI. LOL! By golly, we've got our own home-grown Teddy Kennedy. Decker could've KILLED someone running that red light while drunk. He also voted AGAINST lowering our intoxication limit from .10 to .08 last year. What a maroon.

Decker Holds Fundraiser at Bar
6:00 PM Apr 4, 2005
A fund raiser for state senator Russ Decker took place in Wausau Monday night, despite his recent arrest in Middleton on drunken driving charges.
The fundraiser was held at Treu's Tick Tock Club, which is a bar and restaurant.
Middleton police released the squad car video today showing Decker performing several field sobriety tests after he was pulled over for running a red light.
The video also shows Decker blowing into a breathalyzer.
Police say it registered .086. that's just above the legal limit of .08.
The arresting officer says he was convinced Decker was intoxicated. A test taken later registered .09.
Decker apologized the day after the arrest, saying he exercised poor judgment. Decker faces a court hearing April 21st on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Last year, Senator Decker voted AGAINST lowering the legal blood alcohol limit from point .10 to .08.

Diana in Fitchburg...please tell me you voted today! I did...doing my part to launch those goofball socialists from my forsaken city. Maybe I should move to yours! Clauder seems like a good enough guy. . .
God bless you, Diana. I'm originally from Sheboygan and I'm ashamed of the northern soviet outpost Wisconsin has become. People can talk all they want about Bush's near miss there, but voting for Kohl, Feingold, Doyle, etc...speaks volumes about how lost the place is politically.
DH & I voted bright & early, Numbers 169 and 170. I voted for Clauder again. He is a good Mayor. We do have great fire and police service in Fitchburg; we are taxed in Fitchburg for property taxes, though the address is Oregon.
Mainly, I wanted to vote on the refs that had to do with whether the TAXPAYER or the STATE budget covers prisons and schools. There has GOT to be some way we can make our state be fiscally responsible on the upper end and quit raising property and other sneaky taxes every few months. They are choking us to death with taxes!
(I know our state's not the only one.)
Yes, it is a sad state of affairs. Take heart, though. Many conservatives are finally waking up and starting to fight back against this creeping socialism. I think the coming decade will be very interesting, politically. :)
I'm from Minnesota and have never heard of OWI. We use DWI here to describe Driving While Intoxicated. I thought everyone used DWI.
Why hasn't Russ Decker's DUI appeared on http://wcca.wicourts.gov/index.xsl ??
