TYPE IN THE ZIP CODE TO FIND A SEX OFFENDER IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
You will be amazed with how many are living in your area, so please be aware.
Just click the link at the bottom and type ONLY your ZIP code.
As you will see from a recent story on FR, this criminal check does not take into consideration those void of CITIZENSHIP - Illegals.
Some Long Island , Suffolk County, NY Zips when searched may not show many offenders on record; but the above linked story in Newsday run a few days ago show that it was not because these idyllic towns were free of such predators.
Cut from the Newsday report: March 30, 2005 - "The Suffolk County raids were the third time federal agents and local officers joined forces in Nassau to arrest immigrants who should have begun deportation proceedings after their prison sentences but somehow fell through the cracks.
Laura Ahearn, of Parents for Megan's Law, praised the operation but wondered why it took so long for officials to amend the system's flaws.
"Twenty-five were rounded up in Tuesday's sweep and taken to a federal detention facility. A similar sweep early this month (March) in Suffolk netted 27 sex offenders who officials said were here illegally. All are being held for deportation hearings."
Nadia Marin Molina, executive director of the Workplace Project in Hempstead, said the highly publicized sweep signals a trend in which the federal government deals with immigration problems through enforcement, rather than policy change.
"The only connection we see is immigrants and crime, gang members and immigrants," she said. "If people are eligible for deportation for serious crimes they should have been deported anyway."
Federal and local officers have so far caught 5,300 sexual predators since Operation Predator, a nationwide initiative to arrest and deport sex offenders who also are illegal immigrants, was launched in July 2003.
You have to keep checking it-----some the ones near me are different than they were 6 months ago.
Looks like 2. Amazing.
This must not be very accurate. I typed mine in and no results came up when there should be quite a few. I think it would be more accurate to go to your local county sheriff web site for better results.
What does it mean if somebody is listed multiple times?
Oh gawd. I've got 10. 6 are Mexican.
I think they should put their mug shots on there as well.

I found several near me that the posted site doesn't have.
I tested it for myself. I had one with a background of similar arrests. Others tested it today as well bringing up many offenders. Zips in parts of Chicagoland burbs brought over 50. California also had some higher counts.
Perhaps yours are not on record?
I did the Test with several others in different parts of the country before I posted.
Thankfully, none. Our area isn't KNOWN for sex offenders.
(Doesn't mean they ain't there, though.)
OMG I jsut found one on Ft. Riley that's right around the corner from my house.
I called my wife and let her know.
SHe's there by herself with our 4 kids. All we need is to have a monster like that lurking around the playgrounds on Ft. Riley.
I think as many of these links as we can find will help those that want to see just who is living near them and their family.
But has I posted above, we will never know the extent of illegals that are sex offenders..undocumented! Will they be deported just to return again?
I don't know, but the one I had showed 2 arrests for the same type of crime.

Reposted your ALABAMA link for an easy hit.
17 here for me. But since it's done by Zip, there were a few taht were not THAT close.
A guy that raped a 13 year old lives around the corner from me. That's just great.
Zip Code search is NOT available for the following States: Oklahoma, Nebraska, New Jersey, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
What are the other 4?
Thanks. I post links so seldom that by the time I go and read up on how to do it, the thread is so old no one's reading it anymore.
"I think they should put their mug shots on there as well."
Each county sheriff department in Indiana is required by law to have a website with sex offender info, including a picture, of the offender available.
Link for others in Indiana:

Well I know that Peter Yarrow from Peter,Paul and Mary, lives about an hour from me and he is not in the registry. Why? Carter pardoned him.
15 and several are grandfathers....do they differentiate between offenders who are, say, 18 year old boys who have a girlfriend who is 16, and predators who offend?
What's that zip code for that small town in New York...Chap... oh, never mind.
White/Black guys(?). One guy lives in the building next to me(I could throw a rock and hit his door). I don't know what he looks like but I'm gonna find out. I live in a pretty nice area of town too. And a very nice condo complex. Strange.
I've checked in the past with astounding results. One town may have none (or only one) - the next town over could have dozens or more. It's not surprizing when you consider the left/right politics of each region.
Thanks for posting this. The site is more up-to-date than the official state govt site. This one tells me that the guy I hired a few years ago (for a landscaping job) is a convicted sex offender. He's been here for years and he's still not on the official site.
Hey,Mark, good one! We also have a "Chap" in Massachusetts-Chappaquidick----LOL.
What is it with these "Chap" towns?
Sure do attract some interesting people, don't they?
Is anyone up on terminology ie. criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault, solicitation of a minor?
I discovered some pretty nasty people living in my nabe.
One is a 31 year woman.

The State Link seems most accurate. Many more! :(
Google in: "[Your State] sex offender search". This would be more accurate.
The registration information contained on this web site will be updated on a daily basis to reflect the most current information on file with the State Bureau of Identification. Registrants may, however, have moved and failed to notify the State Bureau of Identification of their change of address. Therefore the State Bureau of Identification can not guarantee the accuracy of the listed address
But, what if there mom's are Oriental and and one of their dad's is white/black. You don't really know if they're Blasian, Caucanese, or Blackenese. You should go find out what they all look like regardless of race or color and take your kid with you and tell them, "I don't want you ANYWHERE near hear or I'll kill you, thats you're only alternative, ok? Men have died for less."
Too bad it doesn't map them.
thats nothing, one of the guys came up over 30 times with the same crime, so i don't know if it was a computer glitch, or if the California courts kept releasing him
Looks like an outer join gone bad. For the nonSQL geeks, I don't think it means anything about the person, just that the database is being queried sloppily.
He's there alright! ;)
Another came up 15 times with a variety of crimes, that is scary
The zip code search here doesn't show it.
``There's 62 in my zipcode. :-(``
yeah, I'd make sure I had my shotguns loaded at ALL times if I were you.
Guess the system needs a little work on mail drop addresses at county jails.
There are SIX in my tiny, rural town of 100+ people! Including forcible sodomy and abduction for the purposes of prostitution. You can run, but you can't hide.

New Jersey has it's own internet site for this.
Here is where you can find these freaks by county for the state of New Jersey:

Yup!
They move around.
Google your own.. [State] Sex Offenders
