"Matta added that Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria has set a good example by calling for Arabizing Al-Quds and banning any Copt to visit the holy lands as long as they are still occupied by Israel."
Arabs first; Christians later. And licking the boots of their oppressors.
PS, if there is violence, it will likely come from Muslims, not Jews or Christians.
He was a Kach member and he claimed Halacha as
a justification. That certainly puts him in the
category of "religious extremeist".

Former Muslim "ERGUN CANER" Now soon to be Dean of liberty university exposes MUSLIM BACKGROUND BELIEVERS .. "DIRTY LITTLE SECRET" A MUST READ !!!
Not ultra orthodox Jew. Maybe we define the terms differently.
R. Meir Kahane never justified acts of terror against civilians. He never used Halacha to defend murder. Now, by definition, any religious Jew who says that the land of Israel (all of it) belongs to the Jewish nation is called an "extremist".
First memo: The name "Al-Quds" is not mentioned in the Qurran even once (nor any other name of Jerusalem).
Second memo: IAF ThunderPilot says: Arabs are the modern Nazis (at least those who claim this kind of rubbish).
Third memo: The extreme Arabo-Nazis should go and drink some oil.
:)
I was just responding to the ultra orthodox point. Those guys don't believe in killing. Otherwise, I agree with what you're saying. And, yes, I am sensitive. Nothing wrong with it.
See my earlier post. Shenouda has been condemned by many American Copts for "collaboration" with the muslimes while his less connected bretheren are killed and raped.
My feeling, as a Roman Catholic is this: Ignore what Shenouda says, while treating him with a limited amount of appropriate respect, as befits a church leader. At the same time, we work to free our oppressed Christian brothers in Egypt and other historically Christian lands that were stolen by the muslimes. Accept the leaders of the Eastern churches that are accepted by the people of those churches as the legitimate voices of those rites, not the ones who collaborate with the muslimes and call for harm to our Jewish friends and bretheren.
Let us not forget, the God of Christianity is also the God of Judaism, and "Allah" is the moon idol of Mohammed's tribe. Anyone who tries to say that "Allah" is also the God of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus is a liar and should be treated as such.
" And, yes, I am sensitive. Nothing wrong with it."
There is if it causes you to attack people without thinking.
If he had claimed he was sent by God would that have made him the messiah?
There is a difference between aberrant behavior claiming religious justification and the norm of Islamists, for instance, in espousing Jihad. Neither Christianity nor Judaism of today, even in their most fervent forms, advocate violence.
The Arabs have a saying:
First comes Saturday; then comes Sunday.
It pained me when the Palestinian gunmen, under the eyes of a watching world, took the Church of the Nativity and its religious occupants as hostages, defiled the Church, broke and stole its ornaments. The Christian population in the Palestinian areas has declined dramatically as have the Copts in Egypt. Tragic.
On this we agree - that the norms of Jewish vs. Islamic
behavior are not to be compared. I would not be especially
fearful of Jewish suicide bombings.
Perhaps Kach is more accurately described as a religious
extremist group rather than an "orthodox" grouping.
My mistake in using the terminology...
Perhaps it's time for a new Crusade.
I had friend who once opined "Beware of medieval garb!"
I agree. They are State Puppets and probably don't speak for the rank and file Copt. The Copts are descended from the original Egyptians and are not Arabs. Its hard to believe that they have any sympathy for the people who stole their Country and imposed their religion on it. Their ancestors in Ancient Egypt had nothing but contempt for the desert dwellers.
The use of "Al Quds" for Jerusalem makes it look like the release was prepared by a Mufti or Imam, not a Christian Patriarch.
"I had friend who once opined "Beware of medieval garb!"
and medieval minds... ;^)
Attack, without thinking. What are talking about?
Do they parteth the hooves and cheweth the kuds?
