Henry Mark Holzer on Jane Fonda book tonight on MSNBC, Joe Scarborough; 4/06; 10:30 EDT
Private Email | APRIL 6, 2005 | HENRY MARK HOLZER

Posted on 04/06/2005 1:06:08 PM PDT by CHARLITE

To make up for the short shrift I was given on Monday evening by the Scarborough show, I was invited back. I insisted that my appearance be solo in a one-on-one with Scarborough (no "debate" with Fonda Fans), and that I have at least a ten minute segment. They have agreed to both conditions, we tape later today, and I am told it will run at 10:30 PM EDT tonight. Stay tuned. HMH

Here is an excerpt from an article by Michelle Malkin appearing in today's towhall.com.

Title: Hanoi Jane Rides Again

"Vietnam veterans see clearly through Fonda's ploy -- yet another insult to the memory of fallen American troops. Walter Inge wrote in a letter to the editor of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: Despite repeated claims, Hanoi Jane Fonda has never apologized for her treasonous collaboration with the Vietnamese Communists. Writing that it was 'a betrayal' and 'a lapse of judgment' is a confession, not an apology.

Henry Mark Holzer, co-author of "Aid and Comfort: Jane Fonda and North Vietnam," was more blunt on MSNBC's "Scarborough Country" this week: "She committed treason. She exploited and misused American POWs. She gave the North Vietnamese communists, with whom we were then at war, propaganda that American POWs endured unimaginable torture not to give them, she gave it to them for free. And, indeed, she caused the deaths of American fighting men and the deaths of our allies as well."

Meanwhile, Fonda's fellow Hollywood hippie leftover, Peter Yarrow, traveled to Vietnam last week "ready to get down on my knees as one American and say, 'Please forgive us'" -- a sentiment with which the unrepentant Fonda -- who has yet to apologize for those treasonous radio broadcasts -- no doubt concurs.

She blew it for me in the war era with her insane stunt......... but she was real cute in "Barefoot in the Park" with Robert Redford.......... who now is one ignorant goon on the issue of drilling in Alaska.

God, why is it that most Hollywood stars need another brain... or a first one.

i think it was hannity & colmes last night, they had Reagan (not the gay one, Ron, but his brother Michael) and some pro-fonda guy.

sounds from her interviews she is trying to say the whole hanoi jane thing was blown out of proportion and she is apologizing,
but if you read the book, she doesn't apologize for her actions at all, the only thing she regrets is that she was photographed

It's a lot like a rapist/murderer (a class her conduct during the war certainly put her in, treason being even worse) saying he's sorry for not using a condom during the rape which left his semen and DNA all over his victim.

I heard a commentator say last night on Fox, that when Jane Fonda was walking down a long line of our POWs during her pro-N.Vietnam visit, some of our guys managed to hand her notes scribbled on scraps of paper, asking for her help. The notes said that they were being tortured, and the authorities needed to know about this, and help them.

Jane Fonda gave these desperate calls for help to her communist hosts, which resulted in even worse, more brutal torture for our guys.

How can such immense callousness be washed away by her lame comments during a "tell all" book promotional tour?

The notable thing about this book is how much MSM coverage and book reviews it's getting compared to the MSM's deliberate effort to ignore the Swiftvets and to ignore Mark Levin's new book, "Men in Black."

Seldom has a contrast shown how deliberately biased the MSM libs are. The do this even though the biggest story of the 2004 campaign was the Swiftvets and one of the biggest current political/constitutional stories is the battle over the imperial judiciary.

If they wanted to do good, professional journalism, instead of just being Marxist/DNC (there's little difference) advocates, one would think they'd want to read Levin's book, review it, and interview him. That way they'd actually be able to write informed articles about the nature and significance of the conservative critique of the judiciary and what it's based on. Instead they interview and fawn over an aging, not too well preserved, slut/traitor.

I think she's out shilling for another Kerry run. She was on the View this morning saying our Government lied to us about the Vet Nam war and about Iraq. She made me sick!

This supposedly is false according to snopes.com. I think she did enough damage without this anyway.

I am with you 100%! I hate the b#$%ch and agree she is a worthless POS. However, this charge appears false. That being said, she did call POWs who said they were tortured liars and said that he NVA would never torture our soldiers. She also publically thanked the Soviets for aiding the North Vietnamese.
