I hate the Yankees. Go Red Sox!!
Linux ping
You don't agree with me, so I'll call you an extremist.
Get over it lady, you are a shill and have to pay the price.
People who follow the SCO vs the World circus know that Laura DiDio is to her field what Paul Krugman is to political punditry.
There are truly some freaky, hostile pro-Linux people. Of course, DiDio is one of the freaky, hostile anti-Linux people, so she shouldn't be complaining.
They used to be OS/2 loonies until IBM said Linux was OK. ;)
I think that any radical is truly surprised that there are people who disagree. When it happens, the critics "must be radicals" themselves--even though they can't see themselves for what they are, themselves.
Many moons ago I remember a company called NBI out of Boulder Colorado who were the manufacturers of a word processor. They were fighting for their lives as PC's came into the market.
So, to get positive press they hired the yankee group and the gartner group to provide some consulting. In turn they received favorable comments in the press from these alleged bastions of knowledge.
I wonder who paid them for some consulting this time?
People DO get completely irrational with this O/S stuff. It doesn't matter which "side" of the O/S wars you're on (although I see more hostility from the anti-Microsoft side in my own, albeit limited experience). It takes on the form of "What? You disagree with my own personal conclusions? Well then I hate you, your ancestors, your progeny, and anyone who has a name that sounds like yours!" I do have to admit it's a hell of a lot of fun to pop into those threads and push buttons.
Getting ready to try out Mandrake 10.1 on an IBM 380Z notebook (PIII, 233MHz, 96MB). Any cautions or suggestions from anyone?
Software is one thing, but you've never seen anything until you've seen those raving Mac whackjobs...
It's funniest to see them eat their own, like when Linus started using BitKeeper to handle Linux kernel development -- they went off on him. OTOH, they did have a bit of a point since BitKeeper is now discontinuing their Linux support, but then they only discontinued it because a fanatical Linux supporter was trying to reverse-engineer BitKeeper.
Or the "I've never used any modern OS besides Windows, but I know Windows is best!" Bill Gates butt-buddy whackjobs.
Hold on thar, podner...
OS/2 did very well considering IBM's efforts to the contrary. There are loonies in every bin, and we (Team OS/2) certainly had our share. But we never had a monopoly in that department!

Yeah...does your wife need an extra cutting board?...LOL!
Seriously it should run fine but take care that you have the drivers you'll need to run the audio and video on the notebook correctly!
Quiet, I'm fishing over here...
Also, left-wing nutballs
