Hillary Meter: Makeover is Working, Only 43% Believe Clinton is Liberal
National Ledger ^ | April 7, 2005 | Staff

Scott Rasmussen has announced that he will begin to track Hillary Clinton's extreme makeover as she attempts to soften her liberal image and move towards the political center. If his latest "Hillary Meter" poll is any indication, Clinton is having success.

The latest numbers according to Rasmussen Reports:

--Currently, 43% of Americans view the former First Lady as politically liberal. That's down from 51% at the end of January.

--At the same time, the number who view Mrs. Clinton as politically moderate has increased from 27% to 34%.

--32% say that if she is the Democratic nominee, they will definitely vote FOR Hillary Clinton.

---37% say that if she is the Democratic nominee, they will definitely vote AGAINST her.

-- 26%) say it depends upon who she runs against.

Rasmussen notes that she still has only a 44% approval rating with 40% disapproval, and more women would vote against her, than for her.

Hillary is re-inventing herself as an anti-abortion, gun loving, military hawk with each passing day. Oh--and expect the God references to flow from Hillary as often as she can work them in. The extreme makeover is in full swing.

This is a brilliant idea by the veteran pollster Scott Rasmussen.

The only thing in this country keeping Ms. Clinton alive is The MSM, if it weren't for the NYT and all liberal news papers, polls and photographers, that phoney, shallow, do-nothing woman wouldn't even be a senator!

The RNC needs to start operating under the assumption that Hillary will be the 2008 nominee, and react as such.

I suppose we'll see if Mr. Rove is as smart as everyone thinks he is.

Hitlery's quote "We are going to take things away from you for the common good"

That's enough reason for me to vote against her.

What we need to be worrying about is when she unveils her "border security" platform. If she is willing to get up on stage and have an HONEST (not politically-correct) discussion about the costs of ILLEGAL immigration, I am afraid she will be taking the oath of office in 2009, particularly if we nominate an "open borders" RINO.

Heaven help us if she promises to put the military on the borders.

Isn't that unbelieveable that FR actually has 20% of members who would support Hillary -- says a lot about what this site has become with so many new members who actually think she might be honest -- give me a break -- honest and Hillary do not belong in the same sentence!

Yep. Time to start putting that and/or some other quotes at the end of all our emails:

"We need to stop worrying about the rights of the individual and start worrying about what is best for society." -- Hillary Clinton
"We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." -- Hillary Clinton, 6-28-04

"It may be that women leaders are less corrupt, but she [Hillary Clinton] sure brings down the average." -- Dick Morris on H&C 3-8-05

"in a large hall [Hillary] ... is shrill; she sounds like some boomer wife from hell."- Peggy Noonan

"The clouds got as dark as Hillary Clinton's heart."
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Hillary Clinton is a crook."
"Hillary Clinton is a socialist; she is anti-individual; she is cruel, and she is mean."
"Our liberties face a far greater threat from Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party than from Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. I am not saying that for impact; I believe that to the core of my being."
"Making Hillary Clinton President of the United States is like taking cyanide."
"Yep, I think Hillary Clinton is the Anti-Christ."

I have it on very good authority that Hillary did NOT want to attend the Pope's funeral, because she wouldn't have been able to wear Old Crusty..

Are you for real??? They must be trolls.

What I want to know is what percentage of the people polled think she's human.

So if she talks about it that is good enough for you??? Just because she promises something does not mean she will do it. It is going to be like the middle tax cut like the x42 promised..

Hitlery's quote "We are going to take things away from you for the common good" That's enough reason for me to vote against her.

That's her epitaph...it got printed and it got just enough publicity to be legitimized. She should stick with being Senatress of Noo Yawk, because she hasn't got a Chinaman's Chance at getting Peter Principled to the White House.
