Shays: DeLay Should Quit As House Leader

"Tom's conduct is hurting the Republican Party, is hurting this Republican majority and it is hurting any Republican who is up for re-election," Rep. Chris Shays, R-Conn., told The Associated Press in an interview, calling for DeLay to step down as majority leader.

DeLay "becomes the poster child for a lot of the things the Democrats think are wrong about Republican leadership. As long as he's there, he's going to become a pretty good target," Dodd said on ABC.

Shays is an ass. He knows Clinton raped Juanita but voted NO on impeachment. He is the embarrassment.

Apparently Shays can't keep his mouth shut. Must come from his propensity to pole-smoke.

I'll go out on a limb and say almost every Republican congressman/senator wants him out. Not because of what he might or might haven't done. Because he's someone who is viewed as being in the way of many things that are being done....and not done(illegal immigration). I bet there's also some internal power grabbing going on withing the Republican Caucus, people want promotions. As for the media, they just hate him like any effective Republican and would like to see him crucified.

exactly,my conservative friend. Shays should eat s@#$% and go away.

"The DemRats want Delay out, because he is the most effective conservative leader in Congress". And as unusual, the Reps can't keep it together.

Something smells here; Are the reps not standing firm because they expect the base to provide them with a bigger majority in 06? I suspect so.

My message to the Elected Reps thus far: Don't push your luck. We conservatives worked our butts off to get the majority that we have gotten in 04. Do your jobs, damn it! If you don't , the dems will ( in 08).

Each and every elected official, without exception, can be placed into one of three categories: 1. Foul; 2. Fouler; 3. Foulest.

For purposes of providing a benchmark Clinton approached or achieved "Foulest." Gingrich likewise.

Now the problem for the poor slob governed by these classes of "persons" is chosing the least bad. To put it another way the poor decent individual must apply the doctrine of relative filth at voting time. This congress wretch is probably to be placed in the merely "Foul" category. (Though he may have a twelve year old pleasure boy stashed away somewhere-that I don't know!)

"Apparently Shays can't keep his mouth shut. Must come from his propensity to pole-smoke."

are you suggesting that Shays has the untasteful habit of a certain percent of the population ( about 2) that rhymes with his surname?

I would like to think so, but power has a very corrupting influence. If I were him I would be watching my back, I'm sure someone is gunning for his leadership position.

This makes me angry. Republicans simply don't stick by their friends like Democrats do. DeLay suffers in a way that few other politicians suffer for doing what is right. He has not been accused of any crimes. This is what he gets. If the Republican Party follows the advice, they are faithless.
