Giuliani beats her 49% to 47%. 51% say they would definitely vote for her. More people don't want Hillary to run for president than do. Giuliani should reconsider running. for more go here http://www.maristpoll.marist.edu/nyspolls/HC050412.htm
51% definitely voting for Hillary! and Giuliani wins?
The race is today? Where do I vote?
The "let's get behind Hillary" push has begun. One of those 30-minute 'ET' type shows (can't remember the name) was just on...with their afternoon call-in poll. Today's poll question? Should Hillary run for president?
I doubt Giuliani will run in 2006 at this point. I could be wrong, but I don't think he wasnts to run for Senate. He will run for the Presidency however.
I'd love to think this seat is winnable. It'd be nice to take out the Dem. frontrunner two years early. I don't think it's going to happen, though.

Unfortunately Giuliani wants to run for President. He does not stand a chance of going past the Republican primary.

It is quite revealing that when you look at the poll results from this Marist group, they asked a question which really cannot be answered..."How would you rate Hitlery's performance"??
How in hell can ANYONE rate the performance of someone who has done NOTHING! and is really just warming a chair in the Senate to be able to say she did it. Just amazing how these pollsters create news -- this poll is a fraud, just like the left, and especially the Marxist Medusa.
At least we don't have to worry about chicken-feces Jeb Bush running yeah!
The headline says that Hillary is LOSING. They've already begun the count. We should have an official winner within a couple of hours.
Rudy's really in a bind.
If he doesn't run for the Senate in 2006 ...he won't find the money he'll need from the Republican base to get through the primaries in 2008.
No guts, no chance of glory, Rudy.
But I think winning a senate race could help him as a presidential candidate especially if he dethroned Hillary. Many people dismiss senators as presidential candidates, because they have experience as legislators but not executives. Giuliani could be an exception, because he has eight years executive experience as mayor of the largest city in the US.
You really shouldn't use a chicken-feces attack on Jeb. It's violates the glass house principle.
Jeb is a better man than U R.
"Get behind Hillary" is faaaar to sick a mental image for any real conservative.... BLEEEEACH!!
You are absolutely correct. Thus far, we have no strong candidate. Running against a woman is going to proove very difficult. Just ask Rick Lazio. The media will make mince meat out of any male who dares to stand up to her. They will lable him a bully, etc., etc., etc. I know I will get flamed for this statement, but I would still rather see Rudy instead of Hillary.
We don't need another Bob Dole running this time. Dole was a disaster and makes one wonder what went on besides he "deserved it".

There was another poll out just a few days ago with her winning by 12%...Do these polling people know what they're doing
Worth repeating!
Jeb is a better man than U R.
Hey! Get with the program. Here's the way it's going to be: Bush, 1988 --Clinton, 1992 and 1996 ---Bush, 2000 and 2004---Clinton, 2008 and 2012 ---(Jeb) Bush 2016 and 2020.
(/sarcasm--I think)
...And the view is simply AWFUL!!!!!!
He would be a strnger governor than Senator IMO but he has made it clear he wont run for governor.
Agreed on the primary part, unless he plans on trying to be a VEEP first. Rudy has a Type A leader personality so again, not his first choice.
But, NY, that's a different story...Rudy should run for Gov or Senate. As long as NYC has this massive liberal population, no election can be "real" in the sense of representing the general populous. It's NYC or bust!!
Rick Lazio was a serious disappointment. And I even sent him some money. But I'm afraid lack of any serious Republican candidates for 2006 will mean it's Hillary in 2008 and THAT means .... wow, I'm just gonna HATE living in Singapore as an expat for 4 or 8 years!
"Top Aide Says Giuliani Can't Run for Senate or Gov in 2006
(Albany, N.Y. -AP, April 4, 2005) Republican Rudolph Giuliani's top political aide said Monday it is not possible for the former New York City mayor to run for governor of New York or challenge U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's re-election bid next year.
But, Anthony Carbonetti cautioned: "Rudy is someone who never says never." "Right now, with all the commitments he has here in maintaining the success of Giuliani Partners and now growing a law firm, Bracewell & Giuliani, I just see the commitment as too great to undertake any sort of run within the next year," Carbonetti told The Associated Press. "It's not possible."

"Creating" poll numbers equates to Florida in 2000.....If Gore has won, why am I going to get out of my comfy chair and run to the polls....APATHY!
Baloney, that's simply wishful thinking on the part of some here.
If he runs, he will be the GOP candidate and beat any Democrat. And the irony is that the more the self-annointed 'voices of social conservatism' trash him, the more the party will move to the center on divisive social issues to maintain a broad enough coalition to win. The bleaters haven't learned a thing from the Terri fiasco, and will only keep shooting themselves in the foot with their vitriolic nonstop purist rants.
I supported DeLay's efforts for Terri, believe that a grave judicial injustice was committed, and strongly support the social conservative position on most issues. But I am also a realist, and understand that political wins involve compromise and coalitions.
Rudy's going to have a hard time on the national (Republican) scene if he fails to take on Mrs. Clinton.
Rudy going to the Senate, IMHO, has precious little to do with it.
True, that.
Who is telling him otherwise?
Of course it would. In fcat it would cement him as a 2008 frontrunner. His entire campaign would be plagued with news stories and talking heads badgering him 'do you promise to serve out your whole term?'
Who the hell cares? Rudy's ego is too big for the Senate and Bertha Butt's opponent will likely be Jeannine Pirro or George Patakifeller anyway.
At least you'd have plenty of shade.
Please let this be true. Out damn spot!
No party loyalty there. See how this "Two-Party Cartel" is functoining. It's set up for The Hildabeast to fly in to office. And poor Rudy is so dilusional that he thinks we will nominate him.
Rudy better bear the Witch. Otherwise she may be returning to the White House. Of course the way Bush has been kissing up to Clinton lately she may return anyway.
Bingo. You nailed it.
At least we don't have to worry about chicken-feces Jeb Bush running yeah!
And you base your comments on... what?
Wonder who that man was that said, "Mr Gorbachev, take down that wall" & walked away from him in Reykiavik. Sorry, Diddle but sometimes ya got to stand for ones own principles & quit the compromising. Rudy is not red state material.
Giuliani needs to run for Governor of New York State. He's not a legislator; he just doesn't have the temperment. And it's long past time Pataki got shown the door.
I agree. ServesURight is either too young and ignorant of history, or too old to remember it... I really wonder why he made these kinds of statements about Jeb Bush. Jeb is a GOOD man. I'd love to see him run for POTUS; but realistically, he'd never win due to the "Bush Dynasty Sydrome" that the crooks on the Left would cook up.
IMOHO
From what I understand, Rudy's not going to run for Gov. either.
Somewhere he's gotten the idea that he's got a shot at the Republican nomination in 2008.
I would probably vote for him, unless someone like Mike Pence was on the ballot. But I don't think he has a prayer to win - a Republican needs the religious vote and Giuliani doesn't have it and can't get it as a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual candidate.
I wouldn't vote for Jeb Bush either. A President has to act to protect the rights of Americans, not cower behind a tyrannical judiciary.
His chances of getting my vote - ever - died with Terri Schiavo.
If that's true, he needs to be medicated.
The only shot he has at higher office is to run for the Senate. Otherwise, nada...
