The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix - Daily Terrorism Threat
Details show extent of terror plot against U.S.
Full Story

We now know more about an alleged attack that triggered an increased national threat level last summer.

That's when U.S. officials said they had uncovered a plot targeting financial institutions. The plot involved bombs, banks and British nationals.

The detail was startling, the targets enormous. They included financial buildings in Washington, New York and New Jersey.

Nimitz Carrier Strike Group to deploy on May 7

More than 6,200 sailors from the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group will deploy from San Diego May 7 to conduct operations in the Central and Western Pacific.

They will support the global war on terrorism with joint and combined operations, according to the Navy.

The Nimitz strike group includes Carrier Air Wing 11, Destroyer Squadron 23, the missile cruiser USS Princeton, the guided missile destroyers USS Higgins and USS Chafe, the USS Bridge, and the attack submarine USS Louisville. Nimitz carries approximately 3.5 million gallons of fuel to support more than 70 aircraft and three escort ships, and enough weapons and stores for extended operations without replenishment. The flight deck covers 4.5 acres and is nearly seven stories above the water.

The Nimitz group's last deployment included support for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.

Naland said a growing number of Brazilians and other foreign nationals are using lax visa requirements for travel into Mexico as a “trampoline” to illegally enter the United States — the prominent theory for the recent influx of Brazilian immigrants to this country.

Brazil is one of 45 countries whose citizens are not required to present a passport to enter Mexico.

Others include Germany, Argentina, Canada, Chile, South Korea, Spain, Great Britain, South Africa and America.

Thanks, Oorang, for the bumper crop of excellent articles. This one got me curious, so I had to look up the other countries that also don't require a passport to enter Mexico. The rest of the list includes France, the Netherlands, Uruguay, Australia, Venezuela, North Korea, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Japan, Israel, Austria, Italy, Greece, Finland, the Bahamas, El Salvador, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Belgium, Portugal, Ireland, Singapore, Switzerland, Aruba, Iceland, Monaco, Belize, Ecuador, Jamaica, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, San Marino, the Republic of Macedonia, and Yugoslavia.

Great, huh?

Name: Ahmed Adhahri
Age:24 years
Place of birth: Jeddah, Arabian Peninsula
Place of Martyrdom: Fallujah
Date: 18-08-1425H

The martyr Omar Hadid did not want his young brother deprived of the benefit of jihad, knowing that one hour on the front line is equivalent to 60 years of adoration as it was said by our Prophet, peace and blessings upon him.

Congratulations to you the parents of these two martyrs, fallen at the same time. Know that it's a noble result that you have, through Allah they learned to love Allah and his Messenger.

The martyr Omar Hadid was in a house accompanied by his young brother Assem and his friend Bandar al Badri and other Mujahideen at Fallujah. Then, there was a bombing on a house near their's. Next, they went out in order to see what had happened and measure the extent of the situation, when a missile fell on them, and it caused the martyrdom of these 5 Mujahideen.

Tears fall from the eyes, the heart cries and when you left us we are saddened.

That Allah Grants you Martyrdom and His Mercy and that He gathers us with you on the very high gardens of Paradise.

To you the happiness of Paradise and the company of the martyrs, of the virtuous, and of the prophets.

Reported by your brother ãÍÈ ÇáÌåÇÏ

I live about an hour south of there. It's located right along the NJ turnpike not more than 20 minutes from NYC. The NJ Transit train tracks run parallel - I pass by every morning. The real danger the plant's close proximity to Newark airport and NYC.

Do you listen to Drudge? He was reporting on this last night. He said the NYT was using scare tactics. I agree with you, people need to be made aware of this. Drudge mentioned that a reporter was able to drive right in and snap pictures. No one stopped or questioned him.
