A historical note: On Good Friday, April 14, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was shot at Ford's Theatre in Washington by John Wilkes Booth. He lingered for nine hours and passed away at 7:22 A.M., April 15th, 1865. Perhaps unthinkingly, or perhaps out of some bizzare sense of dedication, after ratification of the 16th Amendment to the Constitution (income tax), Congress set our annual income tax filing deadline at April 15th.

Snugs found this wonderful photo of GWB and Laura passing Beezie between them. It was March 28th, the day the puppy turned five months old. As Snugs said, it seems like our dog-loving President is beginning to make his move to take over Beezie. BTW, since most dogs reach their full height at around nine months (although they continue filling out much longer), it's beginning to seem as though Beezie might end up being quite a bit smaller than Barney. Unless she puts on a growth spurt in the next three months or so, that is.

He'll only be 62 when he leaves office. Who knows. Maybe he will take that job.

He truly enjoys baseball and does not use this as just a photo op. Great pictures, aren't they?

Oh, Beezie is beautiful! She may end up smaller than Barney, but she'll rule the roost.
