We in heap big trouble.
Speaking of pizza, I was just reminded of Father Guido Sarducci and his "Find-a da Pope in da Pizza" contest on SNL.
Are Republicans telling some cardinals not to vote today?
That line of yours made me chuckle. I actually heard a liberal talk show host say that republicans were disinfranchising some democrats telling them that their voting day was Wednesday, rather than Tuesday, this past election year. Scheesh! if they bought into that, then they should not vote.
When the smoke is black,
there's no turning back!
MSM Headline: VATICAN CONTRIBUTES TO GLOBAL WARMING
No, this does not mean Ratzinger lost. The first ballot is used as a tribute of sorts -- cardinals voting for friends or colleagues as a way of honoring them. The serious politicking starts on the 2nd ballot.
BREAKING - John Edwards will be coming out in a few minutes to address the waiting media. (We will count all the votes and all the votes will count...)
UPDATE - CBS has announced that they will not be making an announcement even if the white smoke emerges since Rather says there is no reason to rush to judgement in calling a winner in Ohio and Florida and things will have to just work themsef's out.
In 1939 Cardinal Pacelli was everyones favorite and it still took him 3 ballots to get elected.

cute...
Agree
Well, at least the Vatican is one place where you can still smoke.....
UPDATE TO BREAKING:
Senator Kerry is still trying to find out to which state to send his team of 1000 lawyers, who all still would like to get paid.
Senator Clinton reiterated that "I have no intention on running for Pope... at this time"...
Tecumseh fired up a fatty!
The cardinals are using the new Diebold electronic voting system. If a pope isn't elected, the power supply short out releasing the black smoke itself.
And if the smoke is black, they gotta come back.
He's still dead, Jim.
For what it is worth, it appears that Celestine V (Pietro di Murrone) was probably the pope who felt the burden the greatest: at least, he was probably the most reluctant to bear the burden.
These cardinals should be ashamed that they are contributing to global warming.
