I disagree that Europe is Christianity's "base." It's base is Christ --- whereever He is. And if we depend on the empty churches of Europe of all denominations for anything; we're in trouble.

The churches of Europe might not be so empty if there were more Polands and Irelands.

I said the base of the Church, not the base of the faith, is Europe. Christianity had its roots, its base, in the middle east, then Rome. The Church as we know it today was spread by European Christians. They were God's instruments and that's why there ARE Christians in Asia and South America.

I don't see why the faith in Europe should rot and be given up on. It proves that Europe and America really do need the presence of a pope. Why give up on Europe? Are they now not p.c.? Jesus wouldn't give up or be cavalier about the lost sheep ....

Also, basing the selection of a pope on population policy is pure politics and is, imho, as bad as abandoning the lost sheep of Europe and America.
