This is the first time I've ever heard reference to Maurice Strong in a news article. I'm suprised that this guy who is supposed to be such a mover and shaker in the world scene isn't mentioned more often. Am I just not looking in the right place.

LOL. If you don't spend much time in slime, looking under rocks, or with Bill Clinton, you may not have heard of him before.

He is Canada Inc.

"Paul Martin is a loathsome crook
worse than Chretien"

Unlike Martin, Chretien did not get rich on his way to the top that's for sure.

I like Martin better than Chretien. Chretien was a dyed-in-the-wool anti-American of the lefty type. His comments about 9/11, his failure to appear with Blair at Bush's post-9/11 speech, his globalist sentiments. Martin's disputes with us don't seem to be ideological.

Over the years I've read many Canadian commentaries very laudatory of trans-national institutions and global governance. From below the feelings were ideological, but the inspiration came from above where profit was the motive.

I don't know about that Shermy.

The Cretch just bought a nice house in Ottawa for $1.9 Million.

Not chump change exactly. Pretty good for someone who never earned more than $150,000/year.

I guess when the Soviet Union died, all the leftist cockroaches funded by the KGB had to go seek other sources of funding, including the DPRK and Saddam.

This guy's bio is worse than corrupt, it's a disgrace: he's a paid whore who has made his fortune shilling and arranging back-room deals for commie dictators across the globe.

No wonder I've never heard of him. The only thing that I know about canada is that their funniest comedians move to the USA and make millions of dollars in the movie and TV industries.

Other people have mentioned Maurice Strong as a representative of the anti-christ- it was discussed a few days ago in the thread about the new Pope's views on the subject. Globalist, working behind the scenes, will come declaring peace, etc. This is the first time i've heard of him with his fingers pulling the strings on a multinational deal of secret intrigue. It also calls into question the reasoning behind canada's stance on the most recent gulf war.

What a bunch of scums. These are the same people who would trash the U.S. for "starving children", or going to war with Iraq "for oil" when they are the ones involved in STARVING CHILDREN and OIL MONEY for their own personal gains.

Hmmmm.... Has Al Frankin discussed this on his radio show yet?

You would think that Mickey Moore would already have a "documentary" (snicker) film in the can about the misdeeds of these rich greedy capitalist pigs.

It sure didn't make sense to many of us to turn our backs when our allies could have used our help, or at least our moral support.

Neither Chretien nor Martin have any ideology.

Chretien is a small-time cheap lawyer
who got his start doing crooked real-estate deals.

Martin quietly moved to riches
by latching on to the rich and powerful.

I always have detested Martin much more than Chretien.

It is obvious to everyone that Chretien is a two-bit swindler
but Martin still manages to convey the impression
that he has some decency and honour.

The press always has covered for Martin.
He ran his steamship lines
receiving about a hundred million dollars
from the Federal government
while he was Finance Minister!

(Would such a thing be conceivable in the USA??
Just look at the flak Cheney has received
over Haliburton).

His steamship lines were registered offshore
so that Paul Martin paid almost no Canadian Income Tax
while he was Finance Minister!!!

The wheat farmers in Saskatchewan all detest Martin
because when he was Finance Minister
he had the 'Crowe Rate" removed
(a special rate charged to farmers
to have their wheat shipped to the Great Lakes)
thus farmers were forced to ship their wheat
to Hudson Bay
where
surprise, surprise
the only steamship line in operation
was that of Paul Martin.
