Just checking. It seems you took offense to others who disagreed with you. It only seemed that way. Things seem like a lot of things to a lot of people. What were they disagreeing with me about?
Are you saying this is a Christian thread?
Yes, it is a thread about how Christians interact with each other.
Sorry, I don't buy that premise.
What did you think it was about?

Good for you.
I personally prefer to give to Christian charities because they are trustworthy to me.

We have disagreed in the past and probably still do on some issues, followerofchrist, but may I say I think you have a very appropriate screen name. Godspeed. :-)

"I suspect that the second chapter of James is not one of the frequently used texts in the church which cancelled its donation."
That's also why Martin Luther wanted to remove James from cannon, along with the seven books from the Old Testament: 1 and 2 Maccabees, Sirach, Wisdom, Baruch, Tobit, and Judith, and parts of Daniel and Esther. He did so even though these books had been regarded as canonical since the beginning of Church history.

Jesus was a man who lived and died back in the day. I understand that a lot of people believe that there is more significant meaning to both, but I personally don't happen to believe that there is. Just curious, if Jesus was just a man who lived and died back in the day, why would anyone write about him - after all, he would have just been like anyone else back then?

Oh, no doubt he was famous. And as I mentioned, many people believe his life was more significant that I believe that it was and they wrote about him and kept his memory alive. When I say, "just a man," I meant in the physical sense in that I don't believe he was the son of God, but I would never say that he was insignificant or "just a man" when looking at the he influenced people and the history of of the world.

Actually, you are incorrect. It's not a book.
Fine, use your rhetorical tricks. It's more a collection of writings that are now expressed as a book. Sorry, I didn't understand that you were looking for a technical explanation - I thought you just wanted to know what it meant to me. I hope this helps you.
So much for that.
Yup, you sure showed me.

Are you saying this is a Christian thread? Yes, it is a thread about how Christians interact with each other.
So any thread that mentions Christians is a Christian thread? I still don't buy it. I'll just use the same criterion to say that this is a news thread. It's a thread about a newsworthy item that any of us can comment on. I'm sure there are Christian-only forums you can post on if you don't want your threads to be sullied with the comments of atheists.
What did you think it was about?
I thought we were discussing a news event that happened to involve Christians. That, at least to me, doesn't make it a Christian thread.

You know why you clicked this thread, and you might be fooling some, and you might be trying to fool yourself, but for you "believers in nothing", it's like a moth to a flame.

Ah, thanks. You are sweet and God Bless you too.
To: Old Mountain man
So you admit that you said that people who haven't come to Chrsit are not Christians? After all, that is your contention, if someone doesn't answer the question we can assume the answer. LOL
So, not only did you say it, and mean it, but are too cowardly to admit it.
To: Protagoras
Yes, I pray often for all you protestants and catholics. I pray that someday you can come to Christ.

You should take your own advice.I always stop when I'm in a hole, but it's you that's deep in.
Why not just admit your slander, admit your intentions were bad, apologise, ask the mod to remove your horrible post, and move on?
Learn to cut your losses.
Alternately, please explain to all the Protestants and Catholics that you slandered how they can be Christians without coming to Christ.

Since I might be trying to fool myself, why don't you tell me why I clicked on this thread since you obviously know me so very well...
