Pro-Life Activists Question Hillary Clinton's Sincerity

A pro-life activist says he's "profoundly disappointed" that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has "snubbed a dialogue with pro-life groups" - after she expressed interest in finding common ground with them.

The Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, said pro-life leaders, including himself, have been trying for two months to arrange a face-to-face meeting with Sen. Clinton, but she has declined.

In late January, Sen. Clinton urged a group of abortion rights supporters to find common ground with pro-lifers. "We should be able to agree that we want every child born in this country to be wanted, cherished and loved," Clinton said in a speech near Albany, N.Y.

She also called abortion "a sad, even tragic choice" for many women. Even the New York Times, in reporting on Sen. Clinton''s speech, said she "appeared to be reaching out beyond traditional core Democrats who support abortion rights.

The Christian Defense Coalition is miffed at Sen. Clinton''s apparent refusal to meet.

"It now seems that the statements Senator Clinton made concerning finding common ground on abortion, were politically motivated and not sincere," Mahoney said in a press release.

"These comments should now be viewed as an attempt to reinvent herself and appear less radical on the issue of abortion in light of the 2008 race for the White House."

Mahoney said it is "critical" for the American public to focus more on what Senator Clinton does concerning abortion, rather than what she says, in the run-up to the 2008 presidential campaign.

The Christian Defense Coalition planned to hold a news conference in Washington on Tuesday to "discuss these issues."

They SHOULD question her. Hillary is tyring to sound "likeable" and trying to float toward the center to get people to vote for her. She is HARDCORE liberal. I don't believe her one bit.

Lest we forget, hatellary was one of the 'Sinators' working her wide butt off to defeat the ban on partial birth abortions ... her infamy began in that debate and Rick Santorum handed her her head! She is ONLY a liberal trying on moderate clothing, but she will always be a flaming liberal and she doesn't actually see anything wrong with the serial killing, she just wants the American people to believe she thinks it's a sad choice.

Leftist code. If you don't want it, you can kill it just the same. The left will never find common ground with moral people. Ever.

Rev Mahoney is taking the right approach with The Beast. Every major speech must be rebutted. People will have to be reminded of her record nonstop for the next three years.

She has more in common with pro-abortion groups: Arkancide and infanticide.

No Hillary!

Not:" we should all be able to agree that every child born in America should be wanted."

but: "We should all be able to agree that every child conceived in America should be born!"

  1. "Finding common ground" to a liberal means "come closer to me sweetie" and never lets up until you are standing right next to them.
  2. You don't eliminate unwanted children by eliminating the children, you need to work on the "unwanted".

"The single biggest DUH I've ever read on FReerepublic. And I mean that."

Susan Jones isn't the most scintillating writer. She's more like Sergeant Friday, "Just the facts, M'am." She writes like a straight reporter. It's just a neutral presentation of the facts. In the hands of a spirited partisan writer like Ann Coulter, Mona Cheren or Debbie Daniel, the article would have been deliciously acid and effulgent with appropriate sarcasm.

My own feeling about Killery conforms to Maxine's.

I mean United States covert ops in Rwanda, using the blood bath to provide cover for overthrow of Mobutu in neighboring Zaire, now DR Congo.

US role in Zaire invasion

American military personnel have been working in Rwanda for the past three years to train the forces used in the successful invasion of Zaire which led to the overthrow of the Mobutu regime, according to an eight-page internal Pentagon chronology leaked to the Washington Post, which published a lengthy account of the operation August 16.
