I have always wondered how 1st Lady Clinton could take her "child" and entourage to Africa and Asia, all expenses paid at taxpayer expense.

Where in the Constitution does it grant the 1st Lady unlimited budget for Travel and Perks?

Why wasn't she called to account by the Congressional Budget Office?

What authoritized her to include her enormous retinue?

Delay, he is a piker compared to the former 1st Lady!

In another case, an aide to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., had not reported a 2004 trip to South Korea until a Washington Post reporter asked her office about it.

And of course that immediately resulted in a big story in the Washington Post headlined Pelosi Failed to Report Trip.

What, it didn't? Why not?

Eddie Charmaine Manansala, Pelosi's special assistant on East Asian affairs, filed a disclosure form for the $9,087 trip a few hours after the newspaper's inquiry and sent a note to the ethics committee saying, "I did not know I was supposed to file these forms and I apologize for its lateness."

Oh, see that? Pelosi's office apologized after being tipped off by the Washington Post that she had a problem. Nothing to see here folks... move along.

Ya gotta love the media. Bias? What bias?

While the Senate deliberates the nuclear option, the House seems bent on mutually assured destruction. Dr. Strangelove couldn't have written a better script for the collapse of political discourse in this country.

I've thought since the beginning this was a suicidal attack. There's nothing but glass houses out there on this issue.

Stupid.

If any of the Democrats inattention to rules

1) Breaks on the front page of any MSM and
2) Gets more than a day or two of coverage

It will be a cold day in a very warm place . . . .

That's a really nice link.

From that site, here:
http://www.politicalmoneyline.com/cgi-win/x_PrivateDetail.exe?DoFn=MostTrips

is a nice chart. Folks should check the R-D split for the top 10, just for grins.

Members of Congress are rushing to amend their travel and campaign records, fearing that the controversy over House Majority Leader Tom DeLay will trigger an ethics war that will bring greater scrutiny to their own travel and official activities.

Good. It's about time BOTH sides of the aisle realize that they have to play by the rules. I welcome it. Any elected official's actions should be beyond reproach, and so maybe this will start to remove the lobbyist money from the halls of power.

This is the press' role in a free society - to act as a watchdog on the government.

House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., warned on Sean Hannity's radio show last week that there are "four or five cases out there dealing with top-level Democrats," whom he did not name.

Worthless bastard Hastert is trying to emulate the infamous Sen. Joseph McCarthy.

Terrible when your boys and gals get caught doing the same things that "evil" Tom Delay did.

Glass houses and all that.

That's a fun top ten list

1. BREAUX, JOHN B 61
2. FORD, HAROLD E JR 60
3. BIDEN, JOSEPH R JR 56
4. WATERS, MAXINE 52
5. FRANK, BARNEY 51
6. LIEBERMAN, JOSEPH I 49
7. JONES, STEPHANIE TUBBS 47
8. CLYBURN, JAMES 45
9. BAYH, EVAN 42
10. MCDERMOTT, JIM 39

Where is Mr. Delay? And why do members of the irrelevant minority party get so many trips comped? Seems like a bad investment on the part of the lobbyists.

..... Hastert is trying to emulate the infamous Sen. Joseph McCarthy.

Good analogy. The Hollywood Ten WERE commies, and at least 4 top-level
democrats ARE unethical hypocrites. The house democrats, in their irrational
thirst for vengeance, have opened up a can of worms........too funny.

I wish that were true! Maybe then we'd have some investigation of the socialists and communists infesting our government.
