Sr. Margaret Farley, professor of Christian ethics at Yale University Divinity School and past president of the Catholic Theological Society of America.

According to her bio she doesn't claim to be a Nun. But here in 2001 she claims: Margaret Farley has been a member of the Religious Sisters of Mercy since 1959. Based on her resume I would say she has pretty much excommunicated herself. Other bio info is here

Don't these academics do background check on these speakers??? Don't they know how to use Google or Yahoo!

And we're supposed to be the dumb ones, the conservatives.

Or maybe did know her background before booking her.

Doesn't take Google, just look at her resume:

1991 Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, Regis College, Weston, MA
1992 Humanities Laureate Award, St. Joseph College, W. Hartford, CT
1992 John Courtney Murray Award for Excellence in Theology,
Catholic Theological Society of America
1996-97 Henry Luce III Fellowship in Theology
2001 Horary Doctor of Humane Letters, Spring Hill College, Mobile, AL
2001 Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, St. Louis University
2001 Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, Jesuit School of Theology at
Berkeley
2002 Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, Lafayette College, Easton, PA
2002 Bridge-building Award, New Ways Ministry
2002 U.S. Dept. of State Foreign Service Institute Award
2003 S.Eleanor Irving Alumni Achievement Award, Cathedral High School

New ways Ministry, big gay dissenter, and in 2002, she gets an award from the State Department, our Bush White House State department...

"After decades of scandal at secularizing colleges, last June the bishops drew a line in the sand. No college that deliberately crosses that line deserves the label ‘Catholic' or the support of the faithful—most especially monetary support."

"Now, we're getting somewhere!"

Busy doing God's work. Rest assured. They're wonderful, sweet ladies who carry the peace of Jesus in their hearts.

I am watching O'Reilly. Did I miss Reilly? I have not seen him. Hope he is still coming up, only 15 min. left.

This is great news - and about time!

Unless I missed him, and I doubt it...but, maybe. I did not see him. Darn! Someone must have talked too long on the show. Probably O'Reilly himself!

It's about time the Bishops flexed some muscle.

The more they flex, the bigger the muscle will grow.

There ARE absolutes. And it's past time those in authority stood up and proclaimed the truth!

My opinion of the American Bishops has jumped up a notch or two.

Nope. CNS has been around for a while and has always had basically the same mission related to Catholic Colleges & Universities.

This is receiving more credence this time because the conservative views in this country are now out into the light and beating the liberals into submission, as it should be.

Peace -
