The American Civil Liberties Union sued in Cleveland federal court to block the license plate sales due to begin next month. < snip >

Not really. They don't actually WANT their own plates, they just want to deny the rights of pro-life people.

I know, it's not short or creative enough for a license plate, but I like the thought :)
And the ACLU has standing in this case because.........?
Thanks for the ping!
Abort the ACLU.
It sounds like a "Pro-Choice" license plate to me.
Is the ACLU against choice?
The Left needs to decide if it is actually "Pro-Choice" or simply "Pro-Abortion".
If it is the latter, the problem can be easily solved by giving them a "Choose Abortion" license plate.
The ACLU uses the word "liberties" in their name to deceive millions of people in this country and countless others world wide. It is in the play book of communist agents working in our country's early history to play such name games to put stupid people off guard. Founded in the 1920s by Roger Baldwin, several crucial leaders of the ACLU were members of the Communist Party. Earl Browder, then General Secretary of the Communist Party, said the ACLU functioned as "a transmission belt" for the party.
If they called their goon squad the Mother's Milk of Communism, they would have done as much good. The MMC has a nice ring to it (sarcasm). People would never condemn mother's milk--even if it was associated with communism.
In short, when will the stupid people of this country take this Union of Communists goons to task like we took the tobacco industry.
Latest I heard was, "viewpoint discrimination."
The idea, as I understand it, is that if the state offers a license plate promulgating a particular viewpoint, it somehow Constitutionally owes opposing "viewpoints" a chance to be equally displayed. Sort of a mobile "equal time provision." I think it's a really lame argument but then we've had a lot of lame decisions from the courts these days.
If the Far Left really cared about "equal time provision", then the schools, especially the colleges, would be more balanced.
The RICO thing, did you get that idea from Michael Savage? I certainly makes the point that it is run like a racket, doesn't it?
It should be called the AACLU because they stand for everything anti-American.
To be sure. Even the near Left has no interest in equal time, in reality.
