The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us in our nation's capital this weekend as we play a three game series against the liberals and leftists working to undermine America from within.
Friday, April 29, from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. we will gather at the northeast corner of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW to counter Code Pink's so-called antiwar demonstration at the gates of Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Saturday, April 30, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. we will gather at the southeast corner of Connecticut Avenue and T Street, NW, across from the Washington Hilton for our seventh annual freep against liberal media bias outside the White House Correspondents Association dinner. Details here.
Sunday, May 1, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. we will gather on the sidewalk on the north side of Lafayette Park at 16th Street and H Street, NW to counter Code Pink's so-called antiwar rally in front of the White House.
For the counter-demonstrations against Code Pink, please bring American flags, signs bearing messages supporting our troops and their mission fighting the war on terrorists as well as signs informing the public about Code Pink's America hating Red roots.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
The weather forecast for this weekend is for chances of rain Friday and Saturday, clear on Sunday. Temps in the 60s for most of the time we'll be out and about.
A note about Code Pink: The group is dedicating their Friday night protest at Walter Reed to "pay special tribute to Marla (Ruzicka) and all the Iraqis who have suffered from the violence of the war and occupation conducted in our name."
Their Sunday rally at Lafayette Park will mark the second anniversary of President Bush announcing the end of major combat operations in Iraq (and the birth of the terrorist insurgency cheered on and aided by Code Pink.)

Somebody bring an organ! Batter up!
BTW, that "Batter up" was not a threat of violence against the Code Pinkos, I am a man of peace and I'll whomp anyone who says different! ;-)
D.C. Chapter mega-ping!
No foul intended, I'm sure.
I'll be there in spirit, but I dare not attend. I'm known for my short fuse, and nothing infuriates me more than the commies of Code Pink! You would be bailing me out of the D.C. jail for sure. :)
Bump!
LOL. Very funny.
Good call. The Code Pinkos try to provoke incidents with us, so you're doing the right thing by hanging back.
Triple-header Weekend ping and echo.
Thanks. I really admire the good work the DC chapter of FR does. Keep it up!
They've got a book tour, too.
Will do!
I'm going to try to get to Saturday's event. Barring any unforeseen problems, I will be at Sunday's. See you then!
I'll bring the big league chew!!!
Sounds like a plan. Best of luck to all.
See you in front of the Washington Hilton on Saturday! :-)

Well I can do Friday Night, but I have to go out of town on Saturday for my cousin's wedding in North Carolina.
Awww... I'm so sorry we're going to miss you! Oh well, if the game gets rained out Friday night, maybe we can join you all there. If not, hope to see you again sometime soon, TBM. Best wishes to your cousin. :-)
Are those their Sex Toys ?
I guess if a weapons chache floats you boat it could be.
"Code Pink" sounds like it should be the title of the sex advice column in Hustler...
Another ping! ;-)
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
Squews me, I don't get it.
If there not supporting our country, are they against it?
Just what do they want?
God Bless you sir. I wish I could attend this---please accept my apollogies. You have been a tireless warrior for years now. Thanks.
Although I don't know that they are Code Pink (it was an ANSWER event), they would certainly have fit right in with CP. Caption below photo is from my report.

This was one of 4 women organized as the Missile Chicks. Dancing as they sang "Shop in the Name of War," to the tune of "Stop in the Name of Love," the phallus-wearing women preceded the main march of leftists. Unclear if her missile's lack of enthusiasm in the right photo is from her seeing Sauropod's funny sign: NEO-CONS MAKE BETTER LOVERS.
LOL
What: "Mission Not Accomplished" Theater and Parade
Who: Victims and opportunists of Bush's criminal war, AND Peace Activists
Where: Lafayette Park and around the White House
When: May 1st, 1 to 3 p.m.
March with Bush as he leads a quirky parade of those who during this criminal war and occupation have gained - war profiteer, puppet Iraqi official, Osama Bin Laden, etc., and those who have lost - US soldier and Iraqi police, Iraqi woman, civilian casualty, member of the press, US citizen, torture victim, unemployed Iraqi, etc. during this criminal war and occupation. We'll gather at Lafayette Park, listen to Bush's delusional sound bites and then speak truth to his mis-use of power. Come as one of his collaborators or one of his casualties, and don't forget to bring a kazoo or your noise maker of choice for the parade around the White House.
Then change into your pink and join us for the next logical step - Stop the Next War Now!
What: A Party to launch CODEPINK' s latest book: Stop the Next War Now! Effective Responses to Violence and terrorism
When: Sunday, May 1st, 4 to 6 p.m.
Where: Mimi's American Bistro
2120 P Street, NW (near Dupont Circle)
Who: Helen Thomas, Phyllis Bennis, Andy Shallal and CODEPINK Co-founders Medea Benjamin, Jodie Evans and Gael Murphy and the wonderful men and women for Peace.
I have lots of photos from all three events; and BillF, Exit148, nutmeg and Staytrue each have photos from at least one of the three events.
Of all three days, I think I will have to vote for today being the most productive for us. I'll give you guys a little teaser...
Code Pink had a turnout today at Lafayette Park, across from the White House, for their "Mission Not Accomplished" protest/street theater event, of 22-25 people (and that is counting all the "actors" in the street theater ensemble). Freepers numbered 10 today, and because we are so used to doing battle outnumbered by several hundred to one, this was a cakewalk. ;-)
Gael Murphy, Jodie Evans, Medea Benjamin and Allison Yorra were some unhappy menopausal broads; ending their "March around the White House" fifty feet after it began!
Kristinn is working on a three-in-one report and the rest of us are busily looking at our photos and video clips for uploading, too. I have some funny photos to share, maybe Freepers can exercise their "Caption This" skills, too.
YES! Today was the best -----AND, the most important!
Friday at Walter Reed Army Hospital, we simply took away some of their steam.
The Wash. press corps dinner is just plain fun. You get your message out, and you have fun doing it. It really is one of the Freep highlights of the year.
But, today --- real work was accomplished. On Friday, when Medea and Gael crossed the street to visit and chat with us, they were all smiles and trying to point out that we really are all alike in our concern for our veterans and the armed forces and lets all just get along and hold hands and sing Kum-ba-ya.
Well---- no pretenses today. There she was,(Medea) in her burka, spreading venom, and her co-horts play-acting in a shameful away. People who stopped by and asked what was going along, were mostly in our favor. Almost 10 to 1.
I want to add more, but it is late and the traffic was miserable coming home, so more comments tomorrow. But I will sleep well tonight, basking in the good job we did today!
Thank you for your early reports and thank you for doing this. Of course, looking for the big report.
It was nice to see Nofel again and meet his son Amar (hope I spelled their names correctly). They were an invaluable addition to our FReep yesterday. Code Pinko Queen Medea Benjamin was over there in her burka labelling herself as "an Iraqi citizen". Nofel pointed out that he is a genuine Iraqi citizen, and he is one of millions of Iraqis who is thankful that President Bush and our military freed 25 million Iraqi citizens.
Our unwavering chant, as we faced the Code Pink commies, led by Doctor Raoul and tgslTakoma (using Raoul's world's largest bullhorn): "8 million Iraqis gave you guys the finger!" (meaning the Purple Finger of Freedom) The DC Chapter FReepers had created foam "hands" that some of us wore, proudly displaying a purple finger.
I was so enthused by the many passers-by (mostly tourists taking pics of the White House, then us) who sided with us, especially the young dad holding his baby who came over to talk to us when our FReep got started. He told Kristinn and Raoul that he is in the military and just got home from serving several months in Iraq. He was thanking US for being out there yesterday. Good heavens... I made sure I said 'thank you' to him for HIS service to our country. What an honor... I feel so unworthy of these brave guys.
Although yesterday and Saturday night's WH Correspondents Assoc. dinner FReep was fun, we realize that you - tgslTakoma, Kristinn, Doctor Raoul and other DC Chapter FReepers who regularly plan and execute these rallies - usually face FAR more hostile situations in DC with these commies, and we again THANK YOU for being out there on the front lines for us. Yesterday's Code Pinko FReep was most certainly a "cakewalk" due to your unrelenting efforts over the past several years to counter their poisonous anti-American messages. They are definitely losing steam! :-)

Thanks for making the trip all the way down from Connecticut!
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
Thank you, Doc Raoul, for suggesting Rt. 40 around I-95 in MD/DE. At least we avoided some of the traffic mess.
A few "after-action" comments about the three DC Chapter FReeps this weekend are posted in 35, 36 and 38. More detailed reports and photos to come later.
Thanks for the great reports. Looking forward to seeing the pics.
Pleeeease tell me someone has a video clip of that loony Code Pink "spokesman" who constantly heckled us and "joined" our rally yesterday. Priceless stuff! ;-D
There were 2 'loonies', ----- the athiest, and the one in pink spreading his version of religion.
The athiest was a kid (?teens?) who sported a buzz job, under a comb over of long unkempt hair. He was so proud to say that dead was dead, that there was no God, and so on. He was like an annoying mosquito/gnat/lice who wouldn't go away. Arguing with the likes of him was futile. He tried to put us in a bad light by writing a sign saying something about our sending out soldiers to be killed. (I forget the wording) Several times I just stepped in front of him to hide his sign. Finally he left when his audience dwindled and he drifted somewhere else. I told him to go home and grow up.
That Code Pink, guy with the pink sneakers and torn pink shirt and unkempt blond hair was another fanatic. He had evidently served and had a medical discharge, but he also was unbendable. Something funny happened with him. There was a group of students from several upstate NY schools who were visiting DC. At one point, when the Pink guy was head to head with Dr. Raoul, the students chaperone/teacher asked the good Doc and the Pink guy to move a bit so that he could get their exchange in a picture with his kids in the background! The Pink guy couldn't get anywhere with Raoul, so he started to direct his remarks at those kids, who argued back at him, holding their own. It was funny to watch this guy with these clean-cut kids, with him getting nowhere. I mentioned to the teacher that his group was getting a great lesson in street civics.
One man (50s?)came by and wanted to know what was going on between the two groups. I'm always careful when I don't know their stand, so I always just stick to the basic facts. He must have sensed my hesitation to point fingers at the Pinks, because he then assured me that he definitely sided with us --- so I let it all out. He thanked us for being there ------- as did many others.
I was delighted to see so many young people agree with our side. Many wanted to know what we were all about and were interested in Free Republic. I saw this, also, at the Hilton. There's hope!
Yeah, that's the guy I remember. You couldn't help but notice this "clueless wonder" who was constantly in our faces... LOL
You've described an interesting exchange with the other guy - the Code Pink guy - between Raoul and the students. I don't remember him, and neither does zelig. This must've happened after we left (?), or we were distracted by something else going on and didn't notice.

Yes, I noticed this also... there IS hope! I hope they discover FR and we notice a new crop of FReepers here, then joining us out on the streets. :-)
