I remember this well; she was the same age as my daughter. Her murder really bothered me for a long time - she was snatched in broad daylight while outside with a playmate. I can't think of a sufficiently cruel punishment for the scum who did this. However, I wouldn't mind trying a few....

Good! This one is for little Samantha!

I think the Orange County Sheriff did a stellar job too. They caught the guy as quickly as humanly possible. They were devastated that is wasn't fast enough to save her. They were all broken up, as we all were.

I have followed this as closely as I could -- kinda tough since it never garnered the press that other SoCal cases did -- and it really affected me as well. I cried many times for her family. She was a precious little angel.

Death to child rapists.

"I got issues at the way this writer has it as being a factory worker is naturally a bad thing"

Me too. You've got to watch us "factory workers". It's like we're subhuman or something. People don't realize that a lot of factories are so sophisticated and technical that a lot of them require employees to have some college. Average income in my factory is over $40,000 per year for the lowest paid person there. That's a very good income down South. It's nothing for mechanics, millwrights, etc. to earn in excess of $100,000 a year.

That is because they couldn't say he was an ex-soldier, marine or war veteren.

Yes, he had other victims, two daughters of his girlfriend. And the jury let him off. Also, he had a slick lawyer who lied.

This is such a horror story that no punihsment is enough.

I never liked the word "child molester" just not strong enough condemnation for a crime like this. I like "Child rapist, child murderer and pedophile."

And I like your rope too.

Glad to hear he's been convicted, unfortunately, in this looney bin, even if they give him the death penalty, he'll die of old age on death row. It might be better to put him in with the general population if they want the death penalty to actually be carried out.

You're right, the terminology should be changed, "molester" doesn't convey the awful nature of the crime.

IMHO child molesters, child rapists, child murderers, should be eligible for the death penalty on the first offense. There is no more heinous crime. I don't think they should ever get out of prison, but, bleeding heart liberals won't want them locked up forever.

Maybe there should be a "2 strikes and you die" rule. The first time the person molests a child, they are given 25 years no parole (if they weren't given the death penalty). If they are let out, they are monitored. If they somehow manage to molest a child again, they are killed on the spot, immediately upon conviction.

They should put them to sleep, like they do rabid dogs. I see no difference between a child molester and dog with rabies. Both pose a threat to society, and neither one can be cured. The only solution is to put them down.

I'm not sure. Somebody mentioned he was an immigrant but I'm not sure. My factory doesn't hire illegals so we don't deal with that. We all speak English. Some factories down in GA hire Mexicans but we don't have that many in TN that I know about.

BTW, it's awful about the little girl. Whoever or whatever he is, he needs to fry.

:-) Thanks! That's my get-away place. There's nothing like sitting out there listening to the waterfall and petting the fish to chase away the stress.

The father couldn't follow the law to enter the country, and who knows what else, why would his son be any different?

Hey, if it's OK to break ONE law, what's one or two more?

(EXTREMELY heavy sarcasm /off)
