So, it's not up to the U.S. to decide who has nuclear weapons or not.

It was up to Bill Clinton and his Crew to decide what countries received our top secret info. I believe China was one, which in turn gave the info to N. Korea and Iran and Lord knows who else.

Democrats are traitors. Democrats are Communists.

You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talkin' to? You talkin' to me? Well I'm the only one here. Who do you think you're talking to? Oh yeah? Huh? Ok.

A Iraqi Dictator once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

And how many Persian children just might there be under those little nuclear bombs that you mention?

If you think they are building a bomb for fun you are wrong. Their leaders have already said that terrorist should use one if they wish. They also support terrorist and their actions and I am sure that it just a matter of time before they sell one to the terrorists. Then you can ask how many American children were in NY when it went off.

Your comment about Israel begs the question -why have not they already acted to eliminate the threat?

My guess would be that the US has urged them not to act against Iran; if history is any sort of a guide, Israel will comply with America until they decide the matter is too critical and then act.

Sadly, I have to agree with you.

The lines from the Diana Ross song "Chain Reaction" come to mind...Big bombs going off in the Middle East may just set off some very nasty chain reactions. (I am using childish language, because so much of the present actions by certain "leaders" is actually quite dangerously adolescent, if not insanely infantile. The "Adults who are still children" with their fingers on the triggers need to grow up pronto.)

I used to think the intelligence services of the various Western Nations were made up of brilliant people, but now I am not so sure.

The Israelis and the Iranians must make peace. Driving from Jerusalem to Tehran, in an air-conditioned car of course, would be quite fun.

Why can't the Israelis, Iranians or Americans negotiate their way out of this impasse ?

Why can't they find anyone with the necessary qualities to do this ?

Are all the parties trying hard enough ?

There is nothing to "negotiate." It is absolutely unacceptable for Iran to have nuclear weapons.

Can Iran have Nuclear Power to develop their nation or should they act like poor little Oliver Twist and walk up to the Western Nations head table and meekly ask..."Please sir, can I have some more ?"

They have a stockpile of oil, they should use that. Nuclear fuel can be turned into weapons too easily, they can't be trusted. There is no room for negotiation on this in my opinion.

I suppose the answer to my own question is whether you see other human beings as your equal or you see them as lower and thus less "deserving".

This from the country that has been calling us the "Great Satan" for the past 30 years. Gee, they're real experts on civility!"

Your right, compared to the "Great Satan tag line" relations must be improving!

I'm glad you are not in control of the foreign policy decisions. Such myopic paternalism is quite dangerous. Making decisions about who should and shouldn't be trusted requires great skill, insight and life experience.

Trust building is a process. You must start to trust or else nothing progresses. People who always distrust first are usually unsuccessful in life.

Jurisprudence of this kind, at this level of negotiation, should be left to experts.

I know some very good Persian people who have absolutely no animosity towards America or other Western nations.

Generalization and pigeon-holing of people and/or nations is boring.

"Trust building is a process. You must start to trust or else nothing progresses. People who always distrust first are usually unsuccessful in life."

And successful people learn who you CANNOT TRUST. Evil IS Evil; not the people of Iran, but their current LEADERS, who are refusing to reliquish control to their populace.

I've sat with murderers, child abusers, rapists, trained assassins and other people who have become divorced from their true selves. Redemption means to "Counter Balance".

There is always a spark of humanity within all people no matter how calcified their true self is. Connecting to and being able to see that spark is an acquired skill.

American Dave...

I have two scenarios for you.

(1) Mr.Sharon signs the chequebook and requests delivery of the new fangled, wizz-bang "Bonza Bunker Buster Bombs". The trade costs US$300 million, with Shipping, Duty, Freight Charges, Insurance included. Israel bombs Iran. More killing. Nothing gets resolved. More animosity. Middle East continues to fester in dystopic evil stagnation.

(2) A Conference is organized between all of the warring parties. Cost US$30 million. Prophecies of Isaiah, see "Swords into Plowshares etc..." unfolds.

Which Scenario would the Master of the Universe want to see happen ?
