Tucson Border Patrol Chief Orders Illegal Border Crossing Cover-Up

Tucson Border Sector Chief Michael Nicely has ordered the Border Patrol to ensure that Illegal Alien apprehensions are kept to an absolute minimum so as to disprove the impact of the recent month-long Minuteman Project.

It is a documented fact that the Minuteman Project essentially shut down the border crossing area in Cochise County where a group of geriatric volunteers from around the nation gathered with lawn chairs, binoculars and cell phones and totally embarrassed the U.S. Border Patrol and the Bush Administration.

All during the Minuteman Project Border Patrol officials and especially Chief Nicely repeatedly demeaned the Minuteman and their effectiveness, accusing them of getting in the way of the Border Patrol, stepping on electronic sensors, destroying tracks, and generally gumming up the works. Nicely attempted to give all credit for the Minuteman Project success to the Mexican government and Mexican military – who did divert the Illegal traffic around the Minuteman area to the east and west where increased Illegal traffic skyrocketed. The actions of the Mexican government and Mexican military can only be attributed to the Minuteman Project.

The problem is that now with the end of the Minuteman Project and no volunteers on the line, Chief Nicely's past inefficiencies and misinformation could be exposed as thousands upon thousands of Illegals, Drug Traffickers (and Potential Terrorists) surge again across the border where once old folks in lawn chairs, binoculars and cell phones held the line.

To preclude this expose of the Border Patrol inefficiency – Chief Nicely has ordered that agents are to be restricted to "forward deployment". There is to be no patrolling in depth. Thus, Illegals who get past 100 yards or so are as good as in Indiana, or Idaho or Kansas or North Carolina. Needless to say, with Border Patrol postings far, far less dense than that of the Minutemen, there will be few apprehensions and thousands upon thousands of Illegals successfully and illegally penetrating into the U.S. This "forward deployment" has been refered to by agensts as "sitting on the X". This strategy has been endorsed by Congressman Jim Kolbe. This assures Kolbe's corporate sponsors of an ongoing supply of illegal (and consequently cheap) labor.

There will be a massive influx of Illegal traffic through the Huachuca Mountains for that area is to be abandoned by B.P. Agents on orders from Nicely.

The Naco Patrol Agent In Charge (PAIC) has been told to keep the apprehension numbers as low or lower than they were during the Minuteman Project. Performance appraisals will reflect their compliance and success in keeping apprehension numbers down.

The whole "forward deployment" cripples the Border Patrol Agents in their efforts to secure America's Borders.

There should be five levels of enforcement:

One; Detection and apprehension of illegal aliens at the entry point.

Two; backup operations to apprehend those who successfully evaded detection at entry and are enroute to lay-up spots and staging areas waiting to be picked up by smugglers.

Three; Traffic check operations to detect and apprehend those who were successfully picked up by smugglers and those who made it to taxis, busses and private vehicles.

Four; Interior enforcement operations to detect and arrest those who have successfully traveled to interior United States.

Five; Employer Sanctions operations to turn off the magnet that draws illegal aliens illegally into this country. Levels four and five have been discontinued for roughly the last two decades. There can be no effective Border Security unless and until the Border Patrol and DHS are allowed to employ all five levels of enforcement.

Chief Nicely’ actions amount to nothing less than treason.

It is seditious and treasonable conduct to knowingly facilitate the unlawful entry of Illegal Aliens, Drug Traffickers and Potential Terrorists across the borders of the United States.

The Nation needs to know that this treasonous conduct is going on in Arizona.

The source for this report is absolutely credible and from within the U.S. Border Patrol.

I am afraid the gross irresponsibility and the abandonment of the American people, by the Washington government, on this issue, is building a volcano here, that is going to explode. It is incomprehensible that Washington thinks the American people are going to just sit and take this wholesale illegal invasion of their country.

Citizen action seems to be the only answer, if government can't or won't enforce the border.

I suggest a bounty on illegal workers, paid to the (anonymous citizen) informant by the offending company.

Sadly, the nation needs to care about it first.
Apparently only a few really do.

Washington's answer is to raise taxes to pay for all the illegals. There will be all those new tollway jobs to fill, you know.

I believe that there are more folks than you think that care about this problem.

Now, if some investigative conservative journalist will track down the truth and make it widely public this Nicely turkey will be replaced.

Didn't Simcox say that they were going to video the illegal
flood after the minuteman project ended, to show the country that the MMP did really have a huge affect on the numbers of illegals coming in?

Sitting on the X is a long standing tradition of malfeasance in the Border Patrol. Management loves to pull this crap to play with the number, from time to time, for political reasons. The Agents tell me that they hate it, but what can they do?

"Now, if some investigative conservative journalist will track down the truth and make it widely public..."

...then it won't make the front page of any newspaper and Michael Jackson will still steal the headlines.

Stopping illegal immigration is sort of like the mythical "war on drugs" and "cutting government spending". It's all done in token amounts to make the general ignorant public feel good while nothing of substance is ever really done.

The UAV's will be flying and recording the illegal immigration trails when the wind isn't too high. These planes are very lightweight and high winds are what keeps them on the ground.

Lets all email this report to our Congressman in the morning, local and the DC offices. Send copies to all the local newspapers. Make a few phone calls to the radio stations.

Please spread it as far and wide on the Internet as you have the capabilities to do.

If you do it and 500 other people do it, you can bet your house that it will make the news. The strength is in numbers. If only 100 people had shown up for the MinuteMen Project it would have died a nice quiet death. Now there is a list of 10,000+ patriots and you know it will never be a matter to be avoided again by the news agencies.

Arizona Border Patrol chief cites need for more resources, personnel

April 25, 2005

By Chris Strohm
cstrohm@govexec.com

Tucson, Ariz. -- The chief of the Border Patrol's busiest sector says his force needs more personnel and resources, including new fences, in order to control escalating violence in certain border areas.

"I don't believe at this point that we have operational control of the border, but we're getting there, and that's the goal," Chief Michael Nicely told Government Executive during a recent interview. He is in charge of the Border Patrol's Tucson sector, which covers about 260 miles of mostly barren land and has the highest rate of illegal immigration in the country.

Memo is from Bishop Kicanas and contains his reflection on what is happening within the Diocese.

April 25, 2005

Meeting with Chief Nicely, U.S. Border Patrol -- More than 30 religious leaders from Christian, Jewish and Moslem traditions met for two hours with Chief Michael Nicely of the Tucson Sector of the U.S. Border Patrol and some of his staff last Thursday to examine, as the hot weather approaches, the very real prospect of another deadly summer for migrants crossing into Arizona from Mexico. The conversation was lively, challenging, direct and very productive.

There was consensus on some very important aspects of the situation: It is important that we use language that accurately describes the reality that the vast majority of migrants are crossing the border for economic reasons and are not criminals or terrorists. We agreed to meet at mid-summer and at the end of the summer to discuss the experiences along the border. We agreed on a protocol for bringing concerns directly to the Border Patrol. The Chaplain of the Border Patrol Tucson Sector will be invited to work with area religious leaders to assist him in responding to the pastoral needs of Border Patrol personnel and their families. We agreed that a meeting is necessary to review protocols for humanitarian groups seeking to attend to the human needs of people on the move. We will review the manual that is used to train the growing number of Border Patrol agents serving in our community. Chief Nicely invited our input on the manual. All agreed from different perspectives that the recent "civilian" initiatives to "patrol' the border are not helpful and should be challenged.

This opportunity to dialogue with Chief Nicely and his staff was appreciated by all.

I was sort of thinking that illegal immigrants were by definition "criminals". What is this IDIOT doing in a position of responsibility on our borders? If anybody (read GWB) has any balls, Nicely is gone. But, I have series doubts that it will happen.

Oh good! Where do I make a donation?

Geez. Silly me. I gave at the office. And gave and gave. So these neanderthals (not meaning to insult any of you neanderthals, you know who you are) could keep their little tax payer funded jobs.

Maybe the Mexican gubmint did divert the illegals around the minute men. That leave the entire rest of the border. The Border Patrol couldn't secure the new hole that the minutemen created? No wonder they're so worried about their jobs. Volunteers are more effective and cost the taxpayers nothing.

Well, that's one way to do it. But I've got some thoughts on this to share.

I think we should build a fence, but not just any ol' fence. It should be a single line of RV spaces. Offer free RV spaces for a few hours per day of sentry duty. I live along the border in south Texas where "Winter Texans" flock to spend the winters and one thing I've learned about them is they love a deal. They have radar for the words FREE and DISCOUNT.

I figure the "Winter Texans" already RV along the border, so why not give them a deal and better seal our borders at the same time. I think this plan is worthy of consideration...humorously considered, at least. ;)

We're facing the glorious 'one hemisphere' reality, where borders disappear, and we're integrated seamlessly into Mexico. Yippee. Well, one solution is for us to move out. There'll be lots of empty beds in Mexico, points south, and even up north.

There was a lot of 'news' about how terror threats in the US are down because it's easier to blow up US citizens in other countries. This feels, frankly, like the calm before the storm. One attack out west and proof that they came across from Mexico, and the border will slam shut.

Noting the skyrocketing of illegals on either side of the Minutemen, it sounds to me that these illegal crossings are much easier if a small area is overwhelmed. A mobile force that can nab them first in one place, and the next day, another place would be very helpful. But we need a low cost punishment system as well, if the physical barriers we've thought up will not be used.

FRegards....
