A 26-year-old woman became the 8th richest figure in China, sparking all kinds of speculation.
'Xin-cai-fu,' a Chinese business magazine which publishes the list of wealthiest people in China every year, announced on Apr. 28 the '500 wealthiest people' in China. Among them is the 8th richest figure, a young woman named 'Liu Fang,' whom Chinese have never heard of. Liu fang is the owner of Yuan-xin-hang Investment Co. which has 6.13% of stocks in Ping-an Insurance. When Ping-an Insurance was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange last June, people first learned the existence of mystery woman Liu Fang. Her wealth, calculated from her stock holding of Ping-an Insurance amounts to 5.1 billion yuan(637 million dollars.)
However, virtually no personal information about her is available, including how she managed to acquire such a vast wealth at the young age of 26. Chinese media including Fa-zhi-man-bao dug out some information of Liu Fang, using the available information on major shareholders of listed companies. According to this information, Liu Fang was born on June 7, 1979. She is a high school graduate. Her address was listed as Dong-cheng District of Beijing. However, what they found at the address was a old decaying house out of which she moved a few years ago. According to local neighbors, "Liu Fang's father was a cab driver and her mother, an worker at a machine factory, and both are retired now."
She is currently working at the marketing department of a large shopping mall. She confirmed that she is the major shareholder of Ping-an Insurance, but declined to give a further interview.
Right after Ping-an Insurance was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange last year, rumors surfaced in some Chinese Internet sites, which said, 'A son of Prime Minister Wen Jia-bao is the real major shareholder of the insurance company.'
Chinese find it quite likely that the mystery woman, Liu Fang, who is the 8th wealthiest figure in China according to Xin-cai-fu's latest survey, is not a real shareholder, but a proxy(front figure) for 'another figure' who does not want his identity to be revealed.

Ping!
She must've taken one of those "no money down" real estate courses.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
is she single!?? :)
You should have also asked, "Is she cute?" :-)
She likely is keeping the money in her bank account for a Nigerian official.
$630 million will overcome an awful lot of not-cute ;)
She just found out that she had been sitting on a million dollars and put it to use.
"You should have also asked, "Is she cute?" :-)"
with that kind of money who cares! there is always plastic surgery ;)
- She likely is keeping the money in her bank account for a Nigerian official.-
Ha-ha! I sort of miss getting those emails - they always make me chuckle!
