where was the ACLU when the US government was interning Japanese during WWII? Seems they were quietly absent ... I think they pick and choose what they want to defend .....

The Japanese were at war with the ACLU's masters, the USSR, at the time so they favored the internment.

Speaking of Crystal Eastman:

As an advocate of civil liberties in wartime and the rights of dissenters and conscientious objectors, she helped establish the National Civil Liberties Bureau in April 1917. (It later became the American Civil Liberties Union.)

Crystal divorced her first husband in 1915. She refused to accept alimony, criticizing the concept as nothing less than an admission of financial dependency on men.

I guess this makes most modern women anti-feminists, since they are all too glad to 1) pick a man that makes a lot of money, and 2) divorce them and take their money.
