shut up. Why are you against giving justice to Emmet Till? Because we can't can't give justice to everyone?
Note to self: "Must answer tactfully, lest this be mistaken for a flame war."
"Shut up." ????? It's too late to give justice to Emmit Till, Lauralee, we can only trust God that he will get his reward in heaven. And trust God that those who brutally and without mercy, murdered Emmit, will recieve the punishment for their crime.
Oh my god.
We should just trust everything to God shouldn't we. Don't worry about Scot Peterson- we'll just leave it up to God when he dies.
Sounds like you have more confidence in the aleged justice dealt out by self interest driven mortal judges, than the true and impartial justice that will be meted out by God.
When ever Scott Peterson dies, it will be in Gods time frame as will be the death of you and me. I find it more rational to trust the dispensation of justice to the creator, rather than to the creation.
I dont perceive the South as being portrayed as more racially biased today based on events of a half century ago, but if youre a southerner youd be more perceptive of that than I am. The media certainly portrays Republicans/conservatives as racist, and its fair to say the South is Republican. I dont see that as an issue in prosecution though, chips will fall where they may. Hes being autopsied in Chicago because hes buried in Chicago, and its my understanding the surviving family is opposed to the exhumation.
Im not sure conclusions can be reached until the facts are out. I presume credible witnesses to the crime itself have turned up implicating additional people, possibly even a confession, otherwise the FBI wouldnt be involved. If thats the case, I dont see how the case cant be prosecuted, and non-prosecution would likely be the greater catalyst of hightened racial tension and south-bashing. If it turns out that the new evidence is someone who saw Joe from the barbershop get in the car with them and thats it, Id agree they should have left it alone. But theres no way to know that now.
Well if any of the monsters who had anything at all to do with the evil done to this kid are still alive and the charges can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt, there is no punishment for them that should be called too cruel or unsual.
