Hiya snugs. How did the election go in your area? I am ecstatic that my seat changed from Labour to Conservative courtesy of a Mr Greg Hands. He got my vote not just because he was a Tory but because he had constantly been campaigning since I moved to the area. He actually worked on local issues and worked to help the local community unlike the Labour candidate who never even bothered to correspond with his/her constituents (no letters, no leaflets no nothing).

I come from Ashford in Kent so my Constituency is a safe Conservative Seat my local MP is Damien Green who has in the past been a shadow minister.

Congratulations on electing Greg Hands I understand from Mad Ivan he is most certainly someone to watch for the future.

Personally I think that Michael Howard did very well in the circumstances and I would like him to stay at least until it is decided whether or not there will be a constitutional vote re the EU.

Who do you favour for the new leader I understand favourite is David Davis not a great choice IMHO but then I come from the John Redwood wing of the party. I would love to see John run for the leadership again especially if voting rules remain at grass root level I think he may stand more of a chance than if they change them back to Parliamentary votes only.

Gosh it is hard to say who I would prefer. Gut instinct tells me Theresa May because I like the way she communicates (although I do not know her politics). Basically I want a right wing, anti-European, tough on immigration persdon with great leadership skills. Failing that I want someone who will lead us to victory and kncok Labour out of Government.

Well you have described John Redwood but unfortunately he is unlikely to either be elected or fulfill your later wish he would be far too right wing on both accounts.

I like Theresa May I remember her speech at the Conference when IDS was still leader and was very impressed with her and very pleased that she remained under Howard.

She also was returned with an increased majority after the Lib Dems saying she was a target for them.

I will do a bit more digging on her politics and if I find anything our I will ping you.

Here are her details with links to voting etc, she seems on the surface fairly solid though she not vote on certain issue such as hunting ban.
