Blue Jays doing alright lately too...
How 'bout dem O's!!!
How bout them Orioles?
YANKEES LOSE!!! THUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH YANKEES LOSE!!!!!!!!!
Now that I'm in Maryland... Go Orioles!
I am a big Yankee fan. Have been since I began to understand baseball back in 1973-74 (age 4). I stuck with them in the hell years of the 80's and early 90's when Mel Hall, Andy Hawkins, Dave Lapointe and the rest of the scrubs stunk up the place alongside all time greats like Mattingly, Righetti and Winfield.
This team is more disappointing than any of them. When Andy Hawkins lost a no-hitter 4-0, I thought it could not get worse. I was wrong.
The Yanks have made the likes of Mark Hendrickson, Hideo Nomo, and Doug Waechter look like Sandy Koufax, Don Dreysdale and Steve Carlton.
Williams looks awful, Giambi is done, and Wright was a horrible signing. This week we had back to back starters who have a grand total of 1 major league start between them....thats no good.
When you drop 3 out of 4 to the freakin DEVIL RAYS, thats unacceptable.
I love the Yankees, I always will. Baseball is my favorite sport, the Yanks are my team. Right now, they stink worse than John Kerry. Worse than Barbara Boxer. Worse than..well...they are better than the Royals...but not by much !
Right now playing against the Yankees is the cure for what ails you. What will cure the Yanks? Right now, no one knows.
LOL and grow up to you, too.
Big deal! So what?
I do not care if the Red Sox ever win another game.
The Yankees choked so bad last October that it is ridiculous to consider the matter seriously, and so MLB is a fraud. I was a huge fan of the Red Sox in my youth.
Yaz was also my hero for years.
Poor Yaz, I feel bad for him and the loss of his son.
I believe that the New England Patriots are the very best organization in all of professional sports, and they are likely to continue their winning ways. Baseball, on the other hand, is likely to go the way of the NHL.
IMHO, good riddance!
By way of contrast, fans of the teams in the Yankees' division root for the Yankees to lose just as enthusiastically as they root for their own teams to win. ....a fairly pathetic state of affairs, and a sure indication of incurable envy.
Amen, Brother! How 'bout them O's, Hon!
Do I have to (grow up that is)?
And why not, at least, I don't use all caps and post exclamation marks like crazy when your team lose, LOL.
So fine to see the MFY and Tampa on the same level...!
I shouldn't laugh. I'm a Tiger's fan.
:-* (that's a kiss)
Do you now say "How 'bout them AyOHs?!' too? :o)
MY team is the Yankees. ...you need to read my post again.
whoops...I forgot the 'hon'.
Nope, but I'm willing to learn.
Oops. I'm having a nice glass of beer.... make it 2, almost 3, LOL!
Hah! Sure! That's why my brother-in-law, a turncoat from the Chicago White Sox of his birthplace to the MFY when he moved to New Jersey, called me up and sang "New York, New York" into my answering machine after the 2003 ALCS. Because he didn't care we lost. I've been abusing him for some time now, and when he protested, I pointed out that he started it.
Now the Yankees suck with A-Rod in the clubhouse.
See a pattern here?
This has been going on a while. I have a "Yankees suck" T-shirt I bought outside of Fenway in 1976!
Hehehe, cheers Mr. Mojo, or should I call you just, Mojo.
The Mariners traded A-Rod (to your Rangers) after the 2000 season and then proceed to have the best regular season in the history of baseball the following year.
Hey, I met the other one about two weeks ago. I miss Tiger Stadium, but the new ballpark is pretty cool.
He was razzing you because he's your bro-in-law, not because he gave a damn about the W. Sox.
Yeah...straight to hell!
How about those ORIOLES??
I'm not a Yankees fan, but it's May. Let's see where they are in August.
Okay, first you've gotta get that little sort of 'ay' sound at the head of the 'oh' --- blend it in so quickly that it's not really separate --- and you probably should say 'dem' instead of 'them' --- and as for the 'hon' --- well, it sounds almost like 'hoahn' to me. LOL
Class dismissed. Go get 'em, hoahn. :o)
Nope, sorry, the season ended today with the Yankees is LAST place.
(I know I quoted you out of context---I was a reporter in an earlier life.)
Thank God I'm a Country Boy!
Do they still play that during the 7th inning stretch in Baltimore?
I haven't been an Orioles fan in a looooooong time. But Yankeeland is just too painful these days. And the color announcer they have on AM 880 just ruins the game for me. She just seems to want to demonstrate how well informed she is all the time, instead of commenting on the actual game.
Given the games recently, I guess I can understand that desire...
KC Royals = 7-21 LOL!
Heard a rumor over the weekend from someone in a philosophical study group that studies occult and paranormal phenomena that a kabbalistic curse (a hex) (cast in ancient Hebrew) had been placed on the Yankees. Curiously, this was before the sweep. Strange times. After hearing that BEFORE this latest tantrum, the outburst struck me as quite odd. Uncanny.

My lucky day.
The Yankee Slayer Cometh...
I wonder how much the new steroid rules have to do with this.
How about them Brewers... wait ,I mean Browns...err I mean Orioles !!!
The Yankees better get their act together, this division looks mighty tough this year. Could be over pretty quick if they don`t improve their game. The American League East just isn`t the same without the Sox and Yanks going at it at the top of the standings.
Go Cardinals !!
You know what's great? How even though the Red Sox won the World Series, their fans' No. 1 obsession is not their third-place team, but how the New York Yankees are doing. It's downright hilarious!
The CURSE of HILLARY beats the CURSE of the BAMBINO.
Ever since PIAPS became the #1 YANKEE fan, the NY team has lost big time.
The only way for the YANKEES to get back to the top is for NY to throw out the #1 YANKEE fan, PIAPS herself.
Actually no, considering that the Yankees haven't won it all since 2000, three years before A-Rod joined the team, and that A-Rod was on several division-winning Seattle teams (including one that beat the Yanks in 1995.) And if you actually watched some Yankee games this year, you would see that A-Rod is one of the few Yankee players who's been doing well. In fact, if it weren't for Alex, the team would have sunk into last place a lot quicker. It's just astonishing to me that people would blame the Yankees' season on a player who's batting over .300, with a league-leading 10 homers and 28 RBI. If you want to blame a former Ranger for helping the Yankees tank this year, the 0-4 Kevin Brown with the 8.25 ERA would be a better place to start.
I probably has more to do with just an aging pitching staff.
