I thought it was being set up for August.

I'm so backed up with work I don't know if I can donate a week in June.

The San Diego Fence. A big help to the smugglers and coyotes. It's only 8' high, and corrugated for easy climbing. It hides huge groups of illegals from the Border Patrol, until they drive out of the area. Then the illegals jump over and run a few dozen yards into brush, canyons, or residential neighborhoods.

You bet. Have binoculars, will travel! We don't need to be part of an official group to go down and do pre-recon.

I've been working 7 days a week and am still getting behind. I have to go to Temecula tomorrow and hang some doors and repair plumbing fixtures in a house that the woman has in escrow and has to be completed before closing.

Other than bathrooms to build in a tiltup including providing a pumping system to push the crap up 25' and 160' across the roof before the 15th when I am committed to a remodel in Rancho Santa Fe I don't even have any idea when i'll get a day off.

That's only a small part of the work that i'm committed to and some of it people have been waiting for a couple of months since it isn't an emergancy.

I'll do what I can but at this point it doesn't look promising.

OK, but let's plan for all of us to go together.

Heck no, "we" are going for lobster and the cemetary.
I'd be back by May 15th. We can also do this! Right?

You could borrow one from Sen. Byrd. No use buying one when you can just borrow it. lol!

BTW, how is your husband doing after his accident?

ROTFL! Juan really showed himself for the jerk wad he is, didn't he?

Husband is doing tremendous. Full recovery, and has more energy than I can muster. He was most fortunate (he says "blessed"). Thanks again for the warmth you showed me. Much appreciated and cherished.

I wish some of us could start MM groups in the hinterland. I live in Kentucky and observe illegal immigration activity every day. Our town can only scatch it's head, if you will, and fork over more money and resources to accomodate it.

I'm hearing that Andy Ramirez' "Friends of the Border Patrol" project is slated to begin in August, but that their may be leadership cadre training days before that. One of the "lessons learned" from the MMP is that it's better to pretrain some folks in media relations, Border Patrol and LE liason, map reading, radio communications etc. Trying to do all that while also absorbing 100s of volunteers at the beginning of the MMP was too much.

But I would recommend that anyone in Socal just get out their maps and drive to the border. There are many areas where you can drive to within a mile of the border and hike in or just take a look around, and get the lay of the land.
