US Mexico Totalization Agreement
The Arizona Conservative ^ | May 7, 2005 | Bruce Barton

So what is a “totalization” agreement? These are bilateral agreements between the U.S. Social Security Administration and its counterpart in foreign countries to coordinate their Social Security programs. Presently the U.S. has 20 such agreements, mostly with European nations. This overall program has been in place since the Carter Administration. However, this is the first totalization agreement between the United States and a nation responsible for nearly 70 percent of the illegal immigration into the United States.

"I suspect that Mexico is one taco away from a revolution"

I'm not so concerned about a revolution in Mexico. I'm more concerned about a revolution in the USA. At some point the populace well rise and it ain't gonna be pretty.

It's obvious that very few of the elected politicians care about legal citizens. We're nothing more than a pocketbook to finance their political campaigns or their solical programs.

Bush's "compassionate conservative campaign" was the biggest hoax ever. We all thought Clinton was the Master of Deception but Bill could learn a few things from GWB and Company.

For those that continue to treat George as the All Mighty I can only say "Shame on You!"

I don't think Bob Dole would have been any better, in fact. It's not the DNA, it's the group he's running with.

This is the website of the Federation for Immigration Reform.

Free faxes are there to be sent to your Senators and Reps about this (disastrous for America) "totalization", and other illegal immigration matters.

I agree, but you won't find any support for the concept of sealing the borders from "victims", I.e. the hoards who are pouring in escaping a communist tyranny. I wish there were a simple answer. As my dear wee Irish mother would say "if wishes were horses, beggars would ride".

And more recently, Bush has been pushing for increased benefits for low-income wage earners and lower benefits for high wage earners.

I am so sorry I voted for him. First, he calls the Minutement 'vigilantes'. Second, he wants to socialize SS even more. And now this? This ties together his love of Mexico, his love of illegals, and his total disdain for the U.S. citizens that are holding the country together by paying high taxes. And now their SS will be cut even more to give it to some illegals. I thought only a Democrat could screw us so bad. (can I say that here?)

I hate to say this but I think we have lost. Since pappa Bush and Clinton are such big buddies, father and son relationship, yeah right. This just stinks to high heavens.

There is no doubt in my mind that Bush will try to push this(totalization) through or Hillary will in 2008.

I am so sorry I voted for him.

I knew in 1999 what he was all about when he uttered the phrase seen in my tagline. That action was an strong indicator of his character and so far, it has been 100% accurate.

In truth, the Totalization agreement was signed in June, 2004. Bush has not sent it to Congress, yet so we really don't know what was signed. We only know what was in the proposal.

The actual agreement could be much, much worse. (Given what I know about Bush, it is most likely is much, much worse)

Had Clinton signed such an agreement 5 months before the presidential election, FReepers would have been justifiably outraged and rallied to the cause.

But since this was signed by their 'bastard' instead of the other guy's 'bastard', they have seen nothing wrong with giving US SS benefits to Mexican illegals just as they've seen nothing wrong with granting these very same illegals amnesty from presecution and deportation.

Reading the comments on threads discussing the increase to low-income wage earners reveals a similar 'blind-spot' to what Bush is really doing.

Not to mention his 'free-speech zones'. Clinton tried that once on FReepers and the hue and cry was so loud that he never did it again.

FReepers' reaction to Bush doing the same? Glowing approval because he was keeping Americans from excercising their 1st Amendment right to redress goverment officials.

And then there's the thinly disguised covert propaganda, called 'video news releases'.

The list goes on and on.

I notice your tag line also. A good one.

Have you noticed how the word "Freedom" is being used by Bush for the rest of the world? This is making a lot of Freepers happy, thinking he is doing something.

So far as I am concerned the word "freedom" has been around as long as the words "illegal aliens" and he is doing nothing about either one. He talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk.

There is no doubt in my mind that Bush will try to push this(totalization) through or Hillary will in 2008.

As an aside, the Totalization Agreement does not need to be pushed through because it's already a done deal. But, we've been kept in the dark about what it contains.

I suspect this is by design.

Some other 'things' need to be put into place before the actual terms are released.

Things like, the non-amnesty amnesty and the increase in benefits for low-wage earners.

The only thing Bush is waiting for is an opportune moment in which to release the terms of our obligation.

If this don't suck nothing does. CAFTA and NAFTA are also stupid deals. If McCain runs I'll have no one to vote for in 2008. Hillary might as well get in for all I care.

"Will the Republic stand? Will we remain Sovereign?"

No to both. The Republic is gone (long ago) and our sovereignty is on the brink.

You are 100% right. I wonder how long it will be until Americans wake up. It doesn't appear we will ever have a pro-American govt in DC.

"it is up to Congress to Act here" No chance of that. It is up to the American people or it will not get done. I'm not real hopeful. Would we have been better off if we didn't enter WWII?

The Bush family is typical of what happens to a heavilly indoctrinated dynasty. They've had leftist thinking pounded in their heads for generations by college professors. What does one expect?

WWII was a necessary war, and it didn't help that our "friends" didn't pay us back (except for Finland). The problem is that the Democrats view socialist government bureaucracies and taxes as being "non negotiable" and more or less a permanent part of the political landscape, not objects which never should have seen the light of day or at least temporary.

For the duration" becomes "forever". That's one of my biggest problems with FDR and WWII Democrats.

The are "true believers" in the growth of government and all that goes with that package (taxes, borrowing, etc). The bible, in referencing Christ, the messiah, ("and of the growth of His government there will be no end"), almost could have referenced FDR and the Democrats' philosophy of government! Almost. Government is neither Christ nor Messiah, and is not God, the source of all life. (The Socialists like to see gov't as the End All to Man's problems).

BTW, I'm in favor of whatever: pays off the entire National debt (no more deficit spending), abolishes the income tax, property tax, and also; unplugs almost 100 years of socialism.

Additionally, we need to back our currency with silver and gold. The National Debt is enslaving this country. The trade imbalance does't help either. Tie the millstone of socialism around this country's neck and we have a Very Big Problem.

Here's the official tally of this mess, but the private sector has other means of calculating liabiliies, and this number can go higher than 7 Trillion, but I'll leave that to the professional Economists to fight about:

Yes, end the federal reserve system, its a complete fraud that gurantees a nation goes into bankruptcy.

As for Democrats, at the end of WWII and up until 1964 (Goldwater) there was at least the appearance of a difference between Dems and GOP. Today, they are one and the same in open. Who was more "conservative", Bush W. or JFK?
