*APPLAUSE* I needed a break from my general cynicism, today. Enjoy. :)

Donna did laundry every day for nearly a quarter-century. Is this you?

My father was third oldest of 15 and I am oldest of 7. I have over 65 in my generation. I know about large families although 19 sure is a lot.
God Bless mothers like that as they have so much love to share.

There was Mother's Day of course, but Saturday marked the 50th anniversary of Donna and Tom, who raised 10 girls and nine boys at a very long kitchen table on their 198-acre farm near Dane. excessmommy

I take it they didn't have cable.
Good for her! 19 kids, wow! Bet the local school bully left all of them alone. Great mom, great dad, great family.
Best Regards

Bet she had a happy mother's day! Also glad someone is taking up the slack for America's declining birthrate.

I have a friend whose grandma had 22 children, no twins, spread over nearly thirty years.
I asked him why she finally stopped having children. He told me it was because they figured out what caused it.
(just kidding on the second part....)

Someone get this lady two weeks in Hawaii. She has earned it. Reminds me of someone I knew in the Navy. Thirteen kids the last one when mom was almost sixty. Lord have mercy!

When I get in deep misogyny mode I think of my Grandmothers eldest sister. She had 20 kids, a hundred or so Grandchildren, and at her 60th Wedding Celebration, 250 living Children, Grandchildren, Great grand children, were there.
Worked all of her life, along with her husband, never complained. I going to snivvle.
