Heard this on another site.
My kind of poster.
Thanks. I had no idea he was sick. He posted a lot on the illegal immigrant threads, and that's where I got to know him. He loved America. We will all miss him!
Ohioan, can you lend you ping list here?
AFE is gone now from this earthly dwelling,
and has left behind those who mourn his absence.
Grant that we may hold his memory dear,
never bitter for what we have lost nor in regret for the past,
but always in hope of the eternal kingdom where you will bring us together again.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Same here. I had looked up some old threads and his name came up, I thought "I wonder what happened to him". When I searched, I found this thread, otherwise I would never have known.
He was an interesting poster, he will certainly be missed!
He was a good mate and a good person. He and his family are in my prayers.
Rest in peace.
Yes, I will very much miss his posts. He always took a very strong stand for what is right, true, and godly.
Apes' posts were always so "youthful," for lack of a better word, so this came as a huge surprise to me..
I noticed there are other (former?) FReepers there I have missed..
He was an interesting poster, he will certainly be missed!
He's the second FReeper to die from cancer in less than a week. Let's hope that they are the last ones for a long time. When you post day after day with them, it's like losing a family member. May God rest their souls.
Condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.
I've been very worried about Prime Choice (Jay) too. He's been fighting cancer, and he hasn't posted since Feb. The last time I heard from him he was having problems with his eyes. I pray that he will be able to beat it. I sure do miss his pings on the hilarious graphics he makes.
I am so glad to see that when he stands before God he will be able to say that he defended life, the life that God created.
God Bless his family.
Same here- I've been reluctant to ping him, in case he's doing poorly. It's not well-known, but back when our sister board, Free Dominion, was having problems with the sysop's antiquated home PC, he very generously gave her a couple of much more modern units-- he's a good young man.
There are also some who remain FReepers in good standing.
Let's pray that he's back soon.
FR just isn't the same without Sacred Cow Burgers.
I always liked his posts. A straight shooter.
Very sad news. AFE will be missed by all of us. Rest in peace, patriotic American.
As strange as it may seem, to some, Apes and I were very good friends. We had corresponded in private, for years and though I knew he was ill, I didn't know that he was that close to death. This is crushing news...simply crushing. He was a lovely man, a dear, dear friend, and he will will be missed.
My condolences to his family and I'm sure that he is now free from pain and care, dwelling forever with God.
Oh my. Prayers for him and his family. Do you know him well? Can you let his family know how well liked and respected he was by so many of us?
I'd only known him for a few months, but he, Jan in Colorado and broadsword were the first FReepers I became friends with.
Yes, he was a good friend of Israel; God knew this, I am sure.
What a lovely picture! It really helps visualize the love that awaits us all (well..most of us, hopefully) in heaven with the Lord. Apes is with Him.
Thank you for the heart warming picture.
My prayers for his family.
Forgive the aside, but your post resonated big time, because Sunday was Mother's day. Lost mine two years ago to breast cancer; she never had a chance even though detected early it just consumed her, consumed her so quickly. I hope for Apes it was not as painful and at least now he knows only peace..broadsword should be informed, he had a lot of respect for Apes, I'll email him.
Doesn't it seem that way? Prayers for Apes, and an extra prayer here would seem appropriate for dear Texas Cowboy..
A nice tribute would be to do a search and come up with the best of the Apeisms; he sure knew how to zing them!
I'm right with you. Thank goodness (and God) our last exchanges were funny, as he always was!
I'm going to see if I still have his last letters and reread them. I hope I didn't delete them all. *sigh*
Too many good Freepers are being banned, like Sabertooth and Joe Hadenuf...
Thank you ari...I'm glad you like it.
Joe was NOT a "good" FREEPER and if you miss the banees, just go to LP and leave FR. ;^)
I agree......extra prayers for El.
I liked them both too..
oh my......he was one of my favs.
NO WAY! I'm glad I made my peace with him/her. They always new when to arrive and mix it up a bit.
Rest in Peace Apes.
" if you miss the banees, just go to LP and leave FR. ;^)"
I love FR, just wish it wouldn't ban people and threads so quickly.
But it's my second home, and the place I go to for reading good commentary on all things political and most things non-political!
Yes he did! What a wonderful tribute that would be. I'm sure he'd look down and laugh.
Hi ariamne, yes, prayers for Texas Cowboy too!
Oh my gosh! Just read posts of his not that long ago it seems.
Oh prayers for him and his family.
FWIW, I agree with you.
Thanks for the ping. Sounds like I would have liked to known him.
I understand how you feel about FR. It's my place to get news too and after so many years, I have many REAL friends here. Why go anyplace else?
May the Lord welcome AFE at the gates of heaven.
I am so sorry to hear this - I just saw this thread. Vaya con dios, mi amigo...
I will miss him.
What you said warmed my heart. God will tell him, "I was thirsty, and you tried to offer me drink. I was hungry, and you tried to feed me. When people tried to stab the back of my head to kill me, you tried to spare my life. You may not have seen that it was Me. But it was. You were ridiculed by others for trying to do these things, but you stood up to them on My behalf. You were persecuted for My sake."
At least, that's what I assume God will say, based on what I've read about Him. FRegards....
Sorry to hear this- he had some good posts. RIP Apes for Evolution. Condolences to the family.
Well said. God bless Apes.
NO WAY! AFE was one freeper who I loved to debate. Rest in Peace, AFE, you will be missed.
