KC, whose real name is Wayne Casey, took a headfirst fall off a 6-foot-high stage while performing Saturday at the Cinco de Mayo Festival in Phoenix. The 54-year-old singer suffered a sprained knee and a cut over his right eye that needed six stitches.

The band was two songs into its set when Casey took the tumble, just as "Boogie Shoes" was beginning.

"I left my shoes at the hotel and had to perform in a new pair," Casey, who is recovering at his Miami home, said in a statement Monday. "I picked the wrong pair of Boogie Shoes!"

Casey nevertheless resumed his performance and went to a local hospital afterward.

KC and the Sunshine Band's `70s disco hits include "(That's the Way) I Like It," "Get Down Tonight" and "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty."

They will continue with shows in Winter Haven, Fla., on Friday and in Atlanta on Saturday".

Ouch Kc. Now I know why HipHop artists wears sneaks.

"I'm Your Boogie Man" is a far better song. I hope he was able to get that in.

"disco still sucks"
I was a latecomer to the disco scene back in the SEventies.True,a lot of it sounded the same and could be monotonous.Yet there was some great disco songs. To name a few-Shame by Evelyn King,Disco Nights by GQ,Good Times by Chic,If You Think I'm SExy by Rod Stewart,Disco Inferno by the Trammps,Night Fever and You Should be Dancing by the Bee Gees,Off the Wall and Rock With You by the once great Michael Jackson and Boogie Ooogie Ooogie by Taste of Honey.
I can't stand heavy metal or punk rock.Very grating and disturbing music.Yet the real old rock and roll like Berry,Little Richard,Jerry Lee Lewis, etc still rocks the house likle nothing else.
