Ever notice that Too Phat Ted and Too Vain McCain actually look a bit alike? Have we ever seen them in the same place at the same time?

If McPains bill on immigration reform is as bad as his bill on Election reform we are in deep dookey.

That is why I support the KYL/Cornyn Senate bill.

As a result, Kyl said, "We've got to come up with a structure that would permit us to take advantage of their (undocumented workers') desire to work here but to do so in a legal construct and not to reward them with any kind of amnesty."

Hey Ted, how do you get them to leave when their three years are up? Your just shoving the problem under the rug for three more years.

I support the building of huge apartment buildings for illegal aliens right next to the homes of Kennedy and McCain!

This sounds a lot like Bush's proposal from a little more than a year ago.

The first step in any meaningful immigration reform must be gaining control of the border.

Without that all we're seeing is political pandering to special interest groups rather than working to protect and strengthen the United States.

The border needs to be secured. We need to have the means to detect and deport illegal aliens. Without those tools, immigration reform is pointless.

Any program that would give preference to someone illegally in this country is unquestionably designed to benefit known felons.

I'm not anti-immigrant. I'm not anit-Mexican. However, our government has the responsibility to limit immigration to desirable applicants who fill a need within our Country.

That's not what they are doing.

McCain should pick Teddy as his running mate, as their views are so much alike. Remember that McCrazy wants to be our "Republican President", and since he wants to move the party towards socialism, I think they make a perfect ticket for all those moderates. When conservatives voice their opinions in the next election cycle, we will let the moderates know what we think of McCrazy. He's toast at the polls.

“would also crack down on employers who hire illegal foreign workers and tighten border security.”

So we are going to pass a NEW law that “SAYS” we are going to ENFORCE the OLD LAWS!!!

I support it too. Make companies, both private and public (and the government departments too) liable to the tune of $50K for each incident on hiring an illegal. The foreigners here legally and hiring illegals, make them responsible too. Then deport legal foreign workers for hiring illegals after the fine is paid and do not let them back in this country ever! Hi-Res low-cost scanners are available to copy documents documents that are suppose to be official (visas and green cards), not to mention, the Social Security administration and State Department are available to cross reference all documentation at the time of application. There are only numbers and names to be checked with with those departments to include photos with the State Department. If our government makes it so no company will want to hire the illegals, then they will not come by no where the numbers walking in today. The laws are already on the books....enforce them.

If I could do it within government, I use a combination of taking the money from entitlement programs across the board like social security, Medicare, etc. on US citizens, and levy a 'illegal alien' tax on all companies operating within our borders to pay for the expenses now to include apprehension, trial, deportation and border security. Think that would quickly change the scenario?

Isn't that the Clinton way, when you get caught doing something illegal say I didn't do it, but I won't do it again, and there should be a law against it"?

You are right, there are laws already that need to be enforced with vigor and no new laws need be passed until the border is sealed and those that are now hiring illegals are brought to justice.

We have to burn up the phone lines to ALL Senate members to let them know their jobs are at stake if they support this legislation. For anyone who needs a review of Kennedy's first FAILED immigration legislation, read this! It's another disaster in the making.

The sad thing is that Kennedy and McLame even think there is a chance to pass this trash but thanks to people like Tancredo, it does have a chance. It can probably pass the Senate and all they need are a few liberal Republicans in the House to join with the Democrats and slip this bill through. Tancredo and his ilk are keeping anything meaningful from being passed so the only thing that has a chance is a left of center bill like Kennedy/McLame.
