There was a character in Heinrich Hoffman's children stories. Hans Guck-in-die-Luft (look in the sky) would always be falling into canals and things because he wasn't watching where he was walking.

"Under the 188-nation pact, nations without nuclear weapons pledge not to pursue them, in exchange for a commitment by five nuclear-weapons states - the United States, Russia, Britain, France and China - to negotiate toward nuclear disarmament.

The problem is the nations that are not among the five, but have successfully tested nukes. (India, Pakistan, soon to be joined by N Korea and Iran). This isn't the first time that Blix has wanted to ignore weapons.

Perhaps it isn't Hans Blix you are thinking of. I heard a Vietnamese restaurant owner talking about a "Hans Plix" who was evidently a UN inspector owned and operated by Saddam Hussein.

The owner kept on muttering something about "Hans Plix, him numbah 10".

Perhaps this will be of some help. ;-)

I thought ol' Hans was hiding out somewhere until the Oil for Food scandal cooled down. I'm surprised he would show his face with the investigation still going on. Maybe the fix is in with Kofi.

Did he write another book, why is he trying for media exposure again?

Senate Minority Whip Harry Reid (D-Nev.): "I think this guy's a loser."

Thank you, Sen. Reid. It's nice to know we can get some crap out of you
every time we squeeze your little head -- even if it is about Blix & Co.
