Hell, why don't we just give them free cars when they get to te other side.

Better yet, why don't we just start bribing the mexican families to stay in Mexico before they come here.

Kind of like we pay farmers for NOT growing things.

Which is why Tancredo would make an excellent replacement. Like Bush, he's a Christian and against abortion and gay marriage but he won't tolerate illegal immigration and will stand up to those who try and walk all over us.

U.S. pays for care of illegal aliens
Treatment money for border states

By ROBERT PEAR
THE NEW YORK TIMES

WASHINGTON -- The Bush administration said yesterday that it would start paying hospitals and doctors for providing emergency care to illegal immigrants.

The money, totaling $1 billion, will be available for services provided from today through September 2008.

Saw this earlier. I can hardly believe this. I don't have any health care yet my taxpaying dollars are going to give free health care to illegal aliens vice deporting these illegals. What's wrong with this pic? (rhetorical) Feelings of betrayal are running high.

And, as a result of that announcement, an additional 150,000 honest, fine, loyal and patriotic foreigners will head north to turn into criminal illegal aliens to break into the US just to get their share.

Those criminals already in the country who had accepted their obligation to pay for their emergency medical treatment will now tell the hospital's accounting office and the collection agency to stop trying to collect the debt from Pancho, but send it to the federal government and send a copy of the "paid in full" notice to the folks who have been pestering. That will mean MORE Yanqui dollars to be sent to Fox, his wife and the PANista drug lords.

Members of Congress from border states, like Sen. Jon Kyl, R- Ariz., had sought the money. They said the treatment of illegal immigrants imposed a huge financial burden on many hospitals, which are required to provide emergency care to patients who need it, regardless of their immigration status or ability to pay.

Ping us when the amount promised gets anywhere near the real costs.

Then please ping us again when Congress actually appropriates an amount equal to those costs...

I think I saw something about this yesterday;

Seems like there was a bill authorizing federal (IE: out taxes) dollars going to hospitals in States with major illegal alien invader problems to help cover the costs for treating the illegal alien invaders who get sick, hurt or pregnant.

The whole situation $uck$, but it is only fair that the whole country pays for the federal government's failure to protect our borders and enforce the immigration laws. NOT fair that the border states should have to bear the burden for the President's and Congresses failure to do their duty in this respect.

All this measure does is help out the hospitals who's emergency rooms are filled up all the time with illegals who don't pay. Hospitals don't ask a gunshot victim their status when they are in the ICU ward unconscious, but still incur huge bills while they are there anyway. This is just to for EMERGENCY care to help out a lot of desperate hospitals who have to pass the bill on to those of us with good insurance.

Hell, that's just lovely. It costs me over $100 to walk into the E-ward, even with the insurance I pay out the nose for, and I'm not even a law breaker. I get to pay for these invading parasites, too?

Now, remind me... which is the party of small government, state's rights, and strong defense?

It would be inhumane to not treat them, and besides they will get free medical care regardless of whether medicare re-imburses hospitals or not.

The govt should put a little disclaimer on the money, OK we will reimburse but you guys must contact DHS immediately everytime a illegal comes in or no money.

This is crap! They authorized giving the states $1B to compensate them for the costs the Illegals have racked up. It's the feds fault they're here running up bills, they should be paying the tab. Close the borders, no bills.

BTW, Janet Nepolitano should be impeached for failure to abide by the people's vote.

This will work just like any other entitlement. The amount first promised is just the seed money to get the foot through the appropriations door. The costs will skyrocket as soon as the basic entitlement structure is established. If they don't vote to fund it, they will be evil monsters who hate sick little (illegal) kiddies.
