Madrid Bombers Trained at Bosnia-Based Al Qaeda Camps
NOVINITE (BULGARIA) ^ | 10 May 2005

Posted on 05/10/2005 7:23:28 PM PDT by Doctor13

The terrorists that carried out the Madrid bombings in March 2004 have been trained at special Al Qaeda based in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The news was broken Tuesday by the chief of the local police department Dragomir Andan at a special press conference. RIA Novosti cited the top police chief as saying that all 11 terrorists left for Spain passing through Sarajevo.

It was also reported that the explosives used in the terror acts were produced in Bosnia.

A total of 192 people were killed and over 1,500 others were injured in the March 11, 2004 attacks in Madrid.

Their culturally determined way of showing how grateful they are for the War Against Serb...I mean...the "Kosovo Campaign"...

Hey, what's a little terrorism between friends???

Clinton bombed the Christian Serbs who were trying to fend off the ever terrorizing Muslims. Clinton was very protective of Islamofascists throughout his 8 years in office.

This is when the Serbophobes blame the Serbs because if they didn't fight the Bosnian Muslims, other Muslims wouldn't have gone to Bosnia where Muslim terrorist training camps could be created.

Of course we bombed the wrong people. To start with the Albanians were big time gumbahs with Adolph Hitler and the SS. They provided something like 50,000 men to the SS to kill Serbians, Jews and Gypsies. Their brethren in Bosnia were no better.

I still haven't figured out why the Clintonistas thought they were the good guys.

BTW, it's not too late. We could go back and bomb them any time we wish.

Yep, you are correct, in spite of Clinton's disregard for the Balkans. When is the last time you have heard of Billyboy being honored or invited to those greviously besieged countries? When is the last time Bill Clinton has ever mentioned those greviously besieged countries, in a National or World forum? When has Bill Clinton- with personal resolve ever tried to bring peace or even attention to this unresolved conflict- after the fact of his residence at 1600? I have unanswered questions about Billy & his Balkans/Chinese/Russian escapades- how 'bout you? Got some answers- do ya?

One of the later chapters of "The Sword of the Prophet" discusses Serbia/Bosnia and pretty much says that the USA's actions over there created a base where Islamofascist terrorists would train and move into other areas of Europe. The author (Serge Trifkovic) essentially says about the same thing you did, Wristpin. He says we bombed the Christians to mollify the Muslims.

It's not a difficult conclusion to come to - with our without a lot of information.

No, 9/11 was the 'thank you' note: gratitude to infidels is not an Islamic virtue.

When Pascha-tide ends, and I take down the Paschal greeting, my tagline will go back to being

"And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will understand what this was about." (or as much of it as fits)

A prophetic little line Milosevic uttered when the KCFY (Kangaroo Court for the Former Yugoslavia) wouldn't let pictures of Serbs beheaded by the Bosnian Muslims and their allies be shown on the courtroom monitors.

The muslim-dominated "Bosnia and Hercegovina" was founded SOLELY for the benefit of the islamist conquest of Europe, and later expanded to training terrorists who do their dirty work all over the world, including attacking Americans. "Bosnia" is a center not only for terrorism, but also finance, organized crime, and shipping hordes of islamic immigrants into Western Europe.

"Bosnia" is also a center for an experiment in "nation-building" by the international-fascist EU and our own international fascist "New Democrats".

It's time to end islamist "Bosnia" as we know it!!!! If Serbophobic members of this forum want to call me "Seselj" for saying this, they should realize that my views on this subject are no different from those of UN secretary-designate John Bolton.

It's the opposite of Kosovo experiment. The only two threadas that seem to be the same are (1) the Serbs have no rights either to self-determination or to to keep what is legitimately theirs, and (2) the US is playing a schizophrenic card supporting Islamic extremists in the Balkans against their traditional allies (the Serbs), while battling the same Islamic extremists in the Middle East.

As they say, "go figure."

BANJA LUKA, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) -- Republika Srpska Police Chief Dragomir Andan said Tuesday (10 May) that the 11 people responsible for the March 2004 terror attack on trains in Madrid may have fought in the BiH conflict years ago.

As soon as you figure out exactly what Adnan may or may not have said, lemme know, m'kay Kosta?

Still, it's a good thing you posted these, else we would have sent our soldiers into Bosnia where those folks would have attacked 'em day and night.

9/11 Suspect Claims Pressure to Implicate

By DANIEL WOOLLS, Associated Press Writer Wed May 4, 4:05 PM ET

MADRID, Spain - An accused Islamic militant who says he is simply a martial arts and physical education instructor burst into tears Wednesday as he denied belonging to a terrorist cell that allegedly helped plot the Sept. 11 attacks.

Abdulla Khayata Katan, 29, also claimed that Spain's top counterterrorism judge browbeat him into making false statements about fellow defendants.

Katan said guards at a Jordanian jail humiliated and abused him during a three-day interrogation in February 2004.

Judge Baltasar Garzon, an investigative magistrate, then pressured him into falsely incriminating the accused terror cell leader, Imad Yarkas, and others, Katan said.

"I am completely innocent," he said. "I have nothing to do with what they accuse me of."

Hours of the taped testimony were played in court Wednesday. In it, Katan did not complain or sound like he was speaking under duress.

But as the tape played, Katan interjected often. He accused Garzon of putting words in his mouth to suggest Yarkas recruited men for terrorist training in Bosnia and Afghanistan.

Katan said Garzon interrogated him without a translator and at times turned off the recorder to tell him what to say. Katan said the statements he made during the interrogation had "nothing to do with reality."

"I was following Garzon," said Katan, a Spaniard of Syrian origin who was turned over to Spanish officials after the interrogation.

After one session, Katan said Garzon told him to sign a document he did not understand.

"Don't worry, just sign it," Katan quoted Garzon as saying.

When Judge Javier Gomez Bermudez asked why Katan waited until now to recant his statements, the defendant said he had written Garzon five letters asking to testify again, but Garzon refused those requests.

Katan is one of 24 suspected al-Qaida members on trial in Madrid since April 22.

Three are accused specifically of helping plot the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States. In testimony last week, Yarkas denied charges he helped arrange a July 2001 planning session in Spain for a suspected suicide pilot and an alleged coordinator of the airline attacks against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The other 21 defendants, including Katan, face charges of terrorism, illegal possession of weapons or explosives or other offenses. Katan is not accused of having direct involvement in the Sept. 11 plot.

Garzon indicted these and other fugitive defendants in the case but is not presiding over the trial. He is in New York on a leave of absence, teaching courses on how to fight terrorism.

Prosecutors say Katan was recruited by Yarkas in 1995 to travel from Spain to Bosnia and teach Islamic fighters at a terrorism training camp. He returned to Spain in 1996, formed an offshoot of an al-Qaida cell and aided mujahedeen fighting in Bosnia and Afghanistan, according to prosecutor Pedro Rubira.

Katan acknowledged that he knew Yarkas and Mustafa Setmariam, a fugitive Syrian suspected of being a senior al-Qaida operative, but only from their fund-raising and recruiting activity at a Madrid mosque.

He described them as insistent, domineering men.

"They imposed their way, dominating people," Katan said in the tape.

He said while in Zenica, Bosnia, in 1995, he spent time at a house with Islamic fighters, but only worked there as a martial arts and physical education instructor.

The trial resumes Monday. Sessions are only held Monday through Wednesday.

Look kiddies - the fact that Al Qaeda sent folks to fight in Bosnia and tried to set up shop there is a given.

But that doesn't mean that Bosnia is tied to each and every event those folks were involved in after their departure - neither 9/11 or the Madrid attacks feature Bosnia as a central element in either their planning or execution. It is merely one of the countries the jihadis visited in the 1990's, and has about as much to do with both attacks as Afghanistan, Sudan, or Chechnya.

I don't know where you get this notion that "6 degrees of separation" has become the last word in retroactively justifying Serbia's invasion of Bosnia, but unless you disabuse yourselves of the notion, you're in for nothing but continued disappointment.

As it stands, Andan is likely to lose his job over this fiasco if he can't back up his words - in the real world, folks are sometimes held accountable for their actions and statements.

How nice it would be if FR were the same.

Really?

Then you should have no problem identifying the official who confirmed this, and providing his statement to that effect, right?

MORATINOS: NO INDICES THAT ANDAN’S ALLEGATIONS ARE CORRECT

SARAJEVO, May 18 (FENA) – Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos on Wednesday said that the allegations made by the RS Police Director, Dragomir Andan, that the preparations for the March 2004 terrorist attacks in Madrid had been carried out in BiH, are currently being investigated, but added that all the reports so far indicate that these allegations are not correct.

Moratinos said that the Spanish authorities were recently informed about this statement, and that the Spanish Embassy in BiH has contacted the BiH authorities, and its security and police services.

“These allegations are currently being investigated, but it seems that there are no indices that support those allegations”,said Spanish Minister Moratinos after meeting with BiH Foreign Minister Mladen Ivanic.

Unless Andan can produce some evidence to back up his claims, not only will he have made an ass of himself, but he will have given further justification to the OHR's drive to eliminate the RS's separate police force.

Just another day in the Balkans.

more forthcoming are the reports with mounting credible evidence pointing to the BiH area being the focal point for muslim jihad training.

What more do you want, even the 3 Major non-cable news networks are reporting the same as Fox and CNN? It is quite obvious your denial lacks the or Rather denies the plausible known - BiH claims by the RS are credible.

Connections with Attacks in Spain

On April 8 2004, the police in Serbia was in a state of alert due to indications that the followers of Naser Oric, who is currently in custody unit in The Hague where he is waiting on a trial for war crimes, were getting ready to carry out a bigger terrorist act in Belgrade or somewhere else in Serbia.

Oric, a hardcore Islamic fighter, was in charge of Islamic fighters in Srebrenica during the war in BiH and often attacked the Serb villages during the war that ended in 1995. According to the sources, Amer Al-Aziz, Sanel Sjekirica and Rabei Ousmane Ahmed were involved in planning the suggested attacks. Sanel Sjekirica is a Bosnian Muslim, born in Mostar, and was the member of the 7th brigade along with Amer Al-Aziz that fought in the BiH civil war until 1995. It is important to say that in the beginning of April 2004 the Spanish Government issued three additional arrest warrants for Amer Al-Aziz, Sanel Sjekirica and Rabei Ousmane Ahmed.

In the beginning of April 2004 the Spanish Police concluded that those three gathered most of those, who are responsible for the attack in Madrid on March 11 2004, and identified most of the others. A total of five Madrid terrorists are dead now, and 17 of them are in custody, including five bombers under names – Yougam, Chaoui, Bekkali, Zbakh (who made bombs) and Ghazoun. The other 12 in custody are charged with having cooperated with them. Nine arrestees were released due to lack of evidence. (GIS sources report that Sanel Sjekirica, who was born in 1980, resides in the Splitska Street #62/11 in Mostar, BiH. It is known that he was taken as a child to the training to the Mujahedeen camp.)

Despite frequent claims of media, which emphasized the Moroccan nature of Madrid attack, the latest arrest warrants showed the permanent Bosnian connection with terrorist activities in a wide spectrum. Terrorist roads through BiH A group that calls itself Abu Najaf Al-Afghani Group Ansar Al-Qaida claimed it was responsible for the attacks in Madrid on April 11 2004 (probably a misprint – interpreter’s note), and a bomb, which was planted later and was not activated on the tracks of a train between Madrid and Seville. This implicated a connection between this group and Moroccans Islamic Battle Group (GICM – Groupe Islamique Combatant Marocain), or pointed that they had some overlaps or similar nature.

A videotape, found in the remains of the apartment that was destroyed in a clash between the Spanish group for special ops and bombers on April 3 2004 in Legano, a suburb of Madrid, shows three masked men wearing traditional Arabic clothes and reading an ultimatum in Arabic language stating, “Al-Mufti and Ansar Al-Qaida brigades decided to follow the road of jihad and demand an urgent withdrawal of Spanish troops from Muslim countries (for example – Iraq).”

Also, in the beginning of April 2004, the police from the area of the Gorazde Municipality in the RS – a state of Bosnian Serbs within BiH – arrested several Kosovo Albanians, who tried to buy explosive. The Gorazde corridor in the RS territory is the main area through which the Islamites must go coming from the Bosnian Islamic territories to the Islamic area of Raska in southern Serbia towards Kosovo and Albania.

The GIS sources also quote that there is information that a very highly ranked member of Al Qaeda was arrested somewhere in the Balkans for some minor crime but under a false name. The GIS sources also say they believe that this was Omar Alavadi. Al Qaeda’s coordinator in the Balkans Omar Alavadi from Saudi Arabia is Al Qaeda’s official, directly in charge of Al Qaeda’s coordination in the Balkans. It is known that he is a very close associate of Osama Bin Laden and that he is closely affiliated with Fatah Ali Hasanin, one more Saudi who is in charge of extreme jihad in the SE Europe.

During the crisis in Kosovo, Hasanin was in Macedonia (Skopje, Tetovo and Gostivar). He would go to Kosovo from there from time to time in a vehicle that belongs to KFOR (NATO’s forces for protection in Kosovo) with the French license plates. At that time he had meetings with Hasim Taci, a former leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) – a terrorist and guerilla organization. Taci is presently the leader of the Kosovo Democratic Party.

It is believed that Taci conducted necessary preparations for a military training of Albanian terrorists in Macedonia, and that he is in contact with extremists in Tetovo, Gostivar, Skopje and Kicevo. In the meantime, the GIS sources in the region identified the key Iranian officials, responsible for terrorist operations in the Balkans. They were named as Ismet Kryeziu, who is considered to be the key Iranian that controls the paramilitary formations belonging to Albanian ethnic groups, which are active in the Balkans; and Asllan Hudut, a close associate to Ismet Kryeziu, who is considered to be in charge of Islamisation and radicalization of Albanians in the Balkans. –sd (Gregory Copley – pg 12&13 of 52)
