I've been aware of this for some time.

Generally, men do not want to get married. For heterosexual men marriage represents a time when boyhood is over - marriage is commitment, responsibility, and supporting a family - support that is required even when the marriage ends. (Gay marriage is about health insurance benefits, access to government programs and special rights.)

Women, on the other hand grow up with the belief that marriage is a grand and glorious success - as little girls they dream of their wedding day. (What man "dreams of his wedding day"?)

So, the only gay men who will get married are those that want access to government benefits - but many gay women will get married because they want to have access to the grand ceremony and percieved social success of marriage.

Just out of curiosity - does it make sense that, on average, heterosexual men would be more promiscuous than heterosexual women? Whio are these promiscuous heterosexual men having sex WITH?

The problem is reporting - women under-report sexual contacts - because they think it is considered "dirty". Heck, women probably forget most of them by putting them out of their minds. What women would ever admit to having 30 or 50 (or more) lovers? Men, on the other hand probably OVER-report sexual contact.

Or, as mother used to say: "It takes two to tango".

The article seems to designed to go with the whinny woman sterotype complain of men want only sex and women only want comitment. Or perhaps women only comit to women.

I haven't seen many "lipstick lesbians" here.
But, I've seen a lot of the Dykes on Bikes types.

I have seen quite a few "lipstick" trans, though.
They are, usually, very tall. ;o)

People need to know what homosexuals themselves say. This list of quotes should be spread far and wide.

People who naively think that homosexuals want marriage for the same reasons they do are stupidly assisting the furtherance of the "gay" agenda.

I had an incident where I whitnessed the aftermath of lesbian domestic violence. Both had numerous gouge marks and a toilet was knocked out of the wall during the fight. Lesbians can be VERY violent.

Also, sexual rape and injuries amongst lesbians in prison is common....very common actually. Slashings amongst spurned lesbian lovers...again not uncommon

And that's the entire point. If straight women were as promiscuous as gay men, there would be a lot more "deviant" heterosexual sex going on.

A sensible woman would avoid a physical fight with a man, but perhaps lesbians often fight viciously is because they are more evenly matched. For pure entertainment, what can top a cat fight?

A) I have basic cable. I've never had Cinemax but I would like to have whoever does Deadwood.

B) My knowledge of women's prison comes from a variety of sources:

1) The lady who runs one of my self storage facilities has a sister who did time in Florida for forging prescriptions. I have also hired the sister for weekend management. My description came mostly from her and her expereince at I belive the Lake Butler area.

2) I have had friends in the Federal prison system for marijuana smuggling and have had the chance to chat with prison guards who also work in the satellite women's prisons.

3) There is a fair amount of study available out there on Google or Yahoo that document the prevalence of lesbianism in prison.

C) The comment about violence amongst lesbians over jealousy etc referred to all lesbians, not simply prison-bound ladies. Sorry for not being more clear.


If straight men were as promiscuous as gay men, that too would lead to more deviant straight sex....I assume.

I'm not quite so willing to equate promiscuous with deviant. Deviant to me is more from along the lines of what used to be called kinky to downright peverted or even criminal.
Promiscuous to the point of multiple partners (orgy) would be to me certainly where deviance and promiscuous converge for example.

In my life, I have known two attractive non-Butch lesbians....both had been abused by men and I believe were seeking what they percieved as safe haven.

I have an elderly great aunt who is a wheel chair bound lesbian in my hometown. Her daddy was a drunk and beat her mom. She has had a live in lover since the late 50s. They are very private and non-Butch and their sexuality has never come up.

My old NYC girlfriend used to ask me when we would go down for holidays why we didn't talk about their lesbianism with them. I told her well intentioned but sillyass that we didn't talk about the old ladies sexuality cause it would give them both a damned stroke. LOL

It is estimated that the majority of women in a women's prison will go lesbo even though they did not in the world. This is hardly the case in men's prisons where such activity is demographically confined for the most part.

I've done research on both aspects of this and found it is highly specific to the individual prison.

I've seen estimates as high as 40% in womens prisons and as high as 65% in some men's prisons.

It's been a few years since I looked all that up so it may have changed a bit.

The pro-sodomy crowd always wants to frame the argument of chosen situational homosexuality as always rape, which does happen often in men's prisons at a static rate of about 20%, but there some prisons where homosexuality is common and well above the rape figure.

I've never looked at the women's rape figure but it does sound like it would rival the men's stat if you know of prisons where lesbianism is in the "majority".
