In a United States Penitentiary, like USP Atlanta or USP Lompoc. I would put coerced homosexuality at maybe at maybe 10%. That practice is not very common amongst Asian, Mexican or Gringo prisoners. It's frowned on by the peer group.

The concensual homosexuality is perhaps slightly higher than in the world for obvious reasons..

In lesser security Federal prisons, the coerced rate drops off quickly.

In State facilities, it would depend on demographics.

Young white lads who are no cliqued up are the most vulnerable......and it's worse for them in large metro urban jails actually.

So suburban parents who think little Johnny should stew in downtown jail for a few days to learn his lesson about that bag of pot should think again. He might well suffer indignities far worse than being stoned and busted.
